Called a day prior to drop off urine for my dog (she had a visit a few days prior but didnt notice she might habe a uti until later) the initial vet visit was at a different location so I called that location first and they instructed me to collect a sample and drop it off. I SPECIFICALLY ASKED IF I NEEDED TO BRING THE SAMPLE TO THE BANFIELD MY DOG HAD HER APPOINTMENT AT AND THE VET TECH SAID NO IT CAN BE BROUGHT TO ANY LOCATION. Called this location a day before collecting the urine to confirm that i can drop it off with no issue. WAS TOLD BY THE VET TECH THAT I CAN DROP IT OFF. Went to this location to drop off the urine and was turned away bc "YOUR DOG HAS TO GO TO THE LOCATION SHE WAS SEEN AT AND BE SEEN BY THE SAME DR" to which i said "I CALLED YESTERDAY AND WAS TOLD I CAN BRING IT HERE" to which the tech had to go and as the DOCTOR if that was ok and when she returned told me THE DOCTOR SAID NO YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE INITAL LOCATION. This interaction went on for 15 minutes as the tech would relay every single question to the DOCTOR THAT DIDNT WANT TO COME OUT AND EXPLAIN THIS TO MY FACE but was sitting in the back on her phone with 3 individuals. I then Asked "THIS IS ALL THE SAME VET SYSTEM IS IT NOT SO WHY DO I HAVE TO GO TO THE LOCATION I WAS SEEN AT" to which the vet tech said "im sorry there's nothing we can do" . So I go online to the PETSMART WEBSITE AND CLEAR AS DAY IT SAYS I CAN VISIT ANT LOCATION WITH OR WITHOUT A PLAN. So please explain why I was turned away?

- SGSharon GerberOct 6, 20251.0If I could give it fewer than one star I would. Horrible experience.Despite having an appointment it took 45 minutes to be seen. The tech then wanted to ask us questions outside an exam room. I asked to go into a room. Before even asking anything he wanted to sell us a $100 a month plan. No way! This was an initial complimentary visit. Not that I loved VCA but her complimentary visit included anal glands expression. Here I was quoted $45 but when I went to pay it was jacked up to $50. He did take the $5 off but I wonder how many people don't realize they may be charged more than the stated price. Although she recently had an interior anal glands expression we were told this was rather source of her pulling out her hair on her back hindquarters. We'll, she is still in discomfort back there so I'm not sure what they did as they took her into another room to do it. Never going there again. No wonder it was so easy getting a next day appt.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
