  I’ve been bringing my dog Remi to this Petco for a while now, and I couldn't be happier with the consistent quality of service we receive. Whether it’s for a fresh groom or some much-needed training, the staff here really treats your pet like their own. The Grooming Salon: The groomers here are top-notch. They are always patient, even when my dog is feeling a little anxious. Every time I pick her up, he looks and smells amazing—ears are clean, nails are perfectly trimmed, and the haircut is always exactly what I asked for. You can tell the stylists truly care about the safety and comfort of the animals in their care. Dog Training with Andy: If you’re looking for a trainer, I cannot recommend Andy enough. Andy has a real gift for communicating with dogs and, just as importantly, teaching us "pet parents" how to lead effectively. The positive reinforcement methods used in the classes have made a massive difference in my dog’s behavior and confidence. Andy is knowledgeable, encouraging, and makes every session both productive and fun. Overall Experience: The store is always clean, well-stocked, and the staff is incredibly friendly. It’s a one-stop shop where I know my dog is in good hands. Huge thanks to the grooming team and Andy for all their hard work!

  I visited the self-wash station at Petco Verona in New Jersey, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. I paid for a full self-wash, but when I first started, the water wasn’t working and I had to ask for assistance. Then, while rinsing my dog, the water stopped again. I had to notify an employee so she could call the manager to fix it. After finishing the wash, the shower area was full of water, so I had to move my dog to another station just to use the dryer. The dryer had almost no airflow. I informed an employee again, and she said she would call the manager. Ten minutes later, I still had a wet dog and no solution. When the manager finally arrived about five minutes later, he told me to use towels to dry my long-haired Goldendoodle. I paid for a full self-wash service and should not have had to rely on towels, especially during winter. I ended up leaving the store with a wet, shivering dog. This was my first time using this service, and I was extremely disappointed — especially with the manager’s lack of urgency and concern. It felt like the issue was not taken seriously. I hope management ensures that all equipment is functioning properly before customers pay for this service.

  After 2 years of no issues, Petco has lost my business today. Had a grooming appointment for my 4lb Maltese dog at 11am today. Upon arrival at 10:45am, was told that the groomer Angela had not arrived yet and so I had to wait. So after waiting 30 minutes, Angela FINALLY walks in at 11:15am in no rush. Proceeds to go to the back and then comes out and tells me that she cannot cut my dogs hair because he's "too stressed". Yes, you read that right. My dog was "too stressed" lmfaooooo Meanwhile my dog was in my arms calm and has been going to this petco for 2 years with NO ISSUES. When we had originally arrived, he was barking because there was two other dogs and he wanted to play. I carried him around the store so he can smell around and then he calmed down. This was WELL BEFORE Angela arrived because once again, SHE WAS LATE! I am convinced that she refused my dog because SHE WAS LATE and has other appointments coming in. I'm just in shock that this groomer instantly turned into a pet psychologist and claimed my dog was "too stressed". I hope you're reading this Angela. Don't project your emotional problems onto other people's pets. You have issues, not my dog. Hopefully you'll one day become a responsible adult and arrive to work on time. Until then, good luck on the pet psychiatry degree.... Will never visit a Petco again and instead will be using small owner operated business in the future who have respect for peoples time and pets.
