They told me to bring my dog a second time because the meds for my dogs skin was not working to test her skin to see what type of infection she has, they treated her for allergies and flea prevention. When I specifically told her that it was a recent issue and that I thought it was a ringworm cause she got that after she went to the groomer. She has no fleas or allergies with the medicated shampoo they gave me it got worst she got pus bumps and I called them to prescribe something to treat it orally. And they said they need to test her skin cause they only treated for allergies and fleas when she has none. And specifically told them what the issue has been and it is my second time in 2 months going and she only gets topical things. AVOID VET YOUSEF she won’t listen to what you said and do whatever she thinks it might be without doing any testing.

I recently visited Banfield Pet Hospital in Union, NJ for a free consultation (figured why not, it’s free) to check out the environment for my newly rescued dog — and I left disappointed. My baseline for care has always been Clark Animal Hospital, where I’ve taken my older dog since they were 3 months old (now 2 years). At Clark, the team’s calm professionalism has always stood out — and that’s crucial when working with new or unfamiliar dogs. Their energy and body language are grounded, measured, and consistent, which helps reduce stress and build trust. That’s not just a preference; it’s part of what animal-behavior experts call low-stress handling. Unfortunately, my experience at Banfield didn’t reflect that same awareness. The vet crouched down and greeted my dog with high-energy excitement — and within seconds, that excitement transferred to him. The vet kept talking through it, which only added to his overstimulation. To me, that moment said a lot about professional composure. In a veterinary setting, staff should mirror calm energy and give a new dog space to settle before engaging. Overexcitement in those first few seconds can easily push an anxious or social dog into sensory overload. A confident, composed greeting can make all the difference in creating trust and preventing stress behaviors. By contrast, Clark Animal Hospital embodies true professional composure. Their team understands that veterinary care isn’t just medical — it’s behavioral. They maintain a calm, well-managed environment that prioritizes emotional regulation and safety, keeping doors closed while pets wait to reduce visual stress. Every interaction supports confidence-building and trust between the pet, the owner, and the clinician. If you’re a new dog owner, I highly recommend Clark Animal Hospital for their expertise, composure, and respect for how animal behavior and energy influence every part of the vet experience. 🔗 Clark Animal Hospital – Google Maps

I had a very disappointing experience at the Banfield Pet Hospital in Union. I had already canceled my Wellness Plan auto-renewal online, but I went in for my dog’s vaccine that was due before my plan’s end date. When I picked up my dog, the front desk staff told me they had renewed my plan without my permission. When I said I did not want to renew, she then tried to charge me for the vaccine, giving several inconsistent explanations — first saying it wasn’t covered by the plan, then claiming it was outside my plan’s end date. I showed proof from my Banfield account that clearly showed the vaccine was covered and due before the end date, and she had no explanation. Then she said they gave another vaccine due after the end date — which I never asked for. It felt like they were trying every possible way to make me renew or pay extra for something that should have been covered. After a long discussion, she finally waived the fee, but the entire experience left a very bad impression. This visit made me lose trust in this location. Be very careful if you have a Banfield Wellness Plan — check your account details and charges closely. I do not recommend the Union Banfield location based on this experience.
