Dr. Krishnan took excellent care of our pup Axel. He went through an annual check-up, teeth cleaning, & tooth extractions. The care he received was too notch. When we discovered he had an aggressive cancer in his mouth, Dr. Krishnan was with us every step of the way through the discovery & acceptance process. She was incredibly patient and answered our numerous questions & concerns. When his quality of life dropped, Dr. Krishnan & the rest of the staff were incredibly supportive and patient throughout the process. We could not have asked for a more peaceful process. We now have two new pups and they are also going to Banfield in Hamilton.
Regarding the Wellness Plan...we had it for Axel & we have it for both our new pups. The only negative thing I have to say about the plan (not the location) is that when Axel passed, I had to continue to make the remaining annual payments / cover the discounts on the services provided. I would completely understand if I voluntarily chose to leave the plan. However, doing this b/c a dog dies is incredibly brutal and does not seem to be a good business practice.

I was a little confused, prior trips to Banfield I received a print copy of the details of my pets visit. I did get a call from the Vetnarian explaining things but it went to my voicemail and it was transcribed badly

One of the doctors told me to put my dog down within 3 days . I was so upset so I took her to another vet who told me she needed to get spayed and correct a hernia , now months later she’s thriving. SMH . I had to leave 1 star just to post

If I could give banfield in Hamilton marketplace negative stars I would. Had several issues the last time I brought my dog in and wasn’t compensated and was called back finally 3 weeks later, with a. “ we’ll look into it.” My dog wasn’t taken out during a drop off visit for a uti, upon pick up she peed all over the floor. A lot of pee. Went in today and asked about the astronomically priced dog food they had me put her on, wanted to make sure it was right… and was told to ask the petsmart employees. Even tho it was 1000 percent a question for the doctor. The petsmart employees didn’t prescribe the prescription dog food Banfield did , and the pet smart that Banfield is inside of doesn’t even carry it. Makes no sense. Take your pets to just about anywhere else they just care about taking your money not making sure your pet is ok!

A single star would be far too generous; zero stars more accurately reflects my experience. I have visited this location twice, the latest on 3/22/2026, and both visits were extremely disappointing, leaving me dissatisfied with the care and service I received. During these visits, I encountered multiple issues that left us concerned about the quality of care being provided. My interactions, or lack thereof, with staff members, including individuals identified to me as Dr. C, Michelle, Jayla, and Kali, were particularly troubling, as I have no way to independently verify the names I was given. I found their professionalism, communication, and overall handling of both customer service and animal care to be well below acceptable standards. As a pet owner, I trust veterinary professionals to treat my animal with compassion, competence, and respect. Unfortunately, my experiences did not reflect those values. The lack of proper care, combined with poor customer service, has caused me to lose confidence in this practice. I strongly urge you to review the conduct and performance of the staff involved and take appropriate action to ensure that other customers and their pets do not have similar experiences.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
