  I go to the Petco in Somerville: I got a text message reminder from someone named Frankie, who reminded me to get pet grooming before the holidays. I’ve been going there for seven years now and that was a first, Thank you, Frankie. I Had the pleasure of meeting a young lady named Danasia, She was extremely nice very informative extremely pleasant thank you Danasia.

  Staff is the most knowledgeable and always there to help. My preferred pet store for all needs. Prices and discounts are far better as well

  Rude employees and manager; I’ve come there for many years. The grooming people are rude and not professional to say the least. My dog, Brinley was groomed at this site for many years. After my grooming before last week my dog, Brinley, was not allowed to have a grooming. Brinley is a 20 < pounds and Petco decided that she was aggressive. At that time the person in charge and the groomer told me that she was aggressive. She is 13 yo and never have your groomers informed me of that behavior before. Why didn’t the groomer or groomer manager inform me of her behavior previously? Unexplained because the manager of the grooming department was combative with me. I am the customer so they should have explained the problem. I bring Brinley every 1 1/2 months. She has short fur and is deshedded every visit. Three visits prior Petco called me and told me her nails were to long. I take her to be groomed every 1-1 1/2 months. I complained because I to her to her previous visit and I asked why did the not tell me at her last visit that i should have her nails clipped more often. I have a doctorate degree in medicine. I feel what they told me was unacceptable and inappropriate. So I brought her to my veterinarian and A TECHNICIAN cut her nails and hence I took her back to Petco for a grooming and it was performed. So I scheduled a grooming for this week and I was denied. The groomer said Brinley was aggressive. That was never documented previously. My grievance is for the new manager of Petco Raritan New Jersey. This is inappropriate, disrespectful, discrimination, I will report you company and the Raritan site for how you abused my Brinley. I will never go back to the Raritan store again! I can tell that your store in Raritan NJ IS NOT DOING WELL. I’m going to post my response for everyone to see. I will have Brinley her groomed at Pet Smart in Bridgewater NJ.

  This Petco is extremely filthy and a mess. When you walk in the smell of animal urine is overwhelming, plus you see the urine all over the floor, wet and dried urine. Health department will be called, it is beyond disgusting. Another thing is the employees all seem unhappy. One of the guys working in the grooming department was slamming things around loudly for no apparent reason. Would never recommend anyone shop or bring pets here, should be closed down.

  I had a terrible experience at Petco. I went there to buy fish, and the staff told me the ones I picked were all good to be in the same tank together. When I got home, I watched one of the fish attack and kill all the others. I thought it was us at first if we had bad water but we kept checking and then relized it was the fish i called the store and asked to speak with a manager, but no one ever called me back. That’s completely unprofessional and really disappointing. I trusted their advice, and now all my fish are gone. I definitely expected better care and customer service from Petco.
