Our dogs have their hair cut to about 1/2" I am not sure how matting could possibly be an issue. On another subject, the thermal printer at the store has been broken for at least two years. Half the thermal head no longer works. When you look at the receipt it is just a collection of letters that you can hardly read. I can't be the first person to notice this. I am a retired tech who worked in this industry. Try cleaning the print head, replacing the print head or getting a new printer. They are ridiculously cheap now days. Being able to read the receipt should be a given, not a guessing game.
