- LALaurie AliceaFeb 17, 20261.0My dog had her first appointment on September 11 by October 11 she had to be put down due to Kidney failure. I kept trying to get an emergency appointment and they told me to take her to an animal hospital. She had a follow up appointment on October 9th and I told them my concerns and they said she was fine. She wasn't fine. She was lethargic and weak. She refused to eat. I ended up taking her to Nevins Farm on Saturday October 11th. They took blood test and told said she was in kidney failure. That the best thing for her was to put her down because she was in so much pain. I lost my baby within a month of her first vet appointment. Please be very careful of where you take your animals.

My 4 year old cat is now diagnosed with cancer due to vaccines given to him here. After taking him to another vet, this is the news I got told today. On top of that, last time my cat stayed here overnight for treatment, when I came back the next morning to pickup he smelt so horrific we had to bathe him as soon as we returned home! If you care about your pet, PLEASE DONT COME HERE! I wish I knew this before I ever went to them.

Within two days of being back home, my dog started having breathing difficulty (I assume due to the dose of anesthesia that was administered). When I noticed my dog's condition, I called this place again, and all they told me was to take him to the ER. I am very dissatisfied with the lack of professionalism and the work at this place. They were unable to provide any explanation or reassurance in a situation like this. Lack of empathy. Be careful where you take your pets!
- DRDionne RileyNov 29, 20251.0I have been with them for years. The last 6 months has been horrendous and awful. Can't get appointments, don't have enough vets on staff for clients. My dog is a senior and sick and needs a vets service. I have come to regret signing up for this insurance with Banfield. This is not my first problem with them wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I'm stuck since my dog is sick and no other insurance will cover him due to preexisting conditions.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
• Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.
