I should put them in a hold tank but I was being lazy. The tank I added them to has ick now and most have died including my stock. The 7 I added, all but one has died within a few days of getting home. Yes, I know which are mine as they are as different color. I seen dead fish in multiple tanks when I was there and I should have walked away and just waited till spring to ship in quality fish as I normally do. That is on me as I didn't want to lost months of work. Do not buy fish here or form any commercial pet stores. Go to the mom and pops that care for their animals and sell healthy ones. I'm now trying save my project tank that I worked on for 2yr but not hopeful. You think petco cares, nope. They basically told me to kick rocks and it my problem. No accountability for selling sick fish. I wanted add an edit to my post. Most my tank died off despite treatments and daily water changes. I had around 50 in my tank and now down to 3...so in the end my whole project tank is now over. Over summer I order some lines in of 15 fry that cost me 75ish to do ended up being all females. I only had 1 male out my stock which how I ended up at petco. So it was a complete and totally waste of 2yr just form their 7 fish. Do not buy fish here! Even if your just wanting pet fish. It is a waste of money and time. Petco will not take accountability and tell you kick rocks. Lesson learned, I'll never shop at any of their locations again.
