He began arguing with me about not having the proper set up for the beta (which I do have.) I have had many fish tanks in my life. He refused to sell my 5 year daughter a fish saying I had to have a 5 gallon tank (which are half off right now) his exact words. I said no I just want the fish and that's when he refused me. He said I had to have a filter (which I do) I had to leave with a crying child because the man at the register wouldn't let us get a new one. I did not have the funds for a new tank or anything be was trying to sell. I just wanted to replace her fish so she wasn't so sad about the first one passing away. He was not informing me he was pushing me to spend money. This was absolutely horrible for my 5 year old who sat in her bed last night crying. How do I explain to her that we couldn't get her a new fish because the man said no? For NO reason. I have a fine set up and experience with the fish. I did tell him about my experience so his behavior was uncalled for.

Maybe petco needs to do their research before turning some one away and telling them no. Very disappointed in this place. So from here on out I will be giving petsmart my business and money.

Who cares if it will die, it’s a $5 fish and it would have made my (fully in a wheelchair) disabled father happy. I couldn’t believe it. Usually people there are so nice but I will NOT be returning.
