I’m deeply disappointed with the Mooresville Banfield Pet Hospital (590-G River Hwy). A month ago, their vet convinced us to sign up for their wellness plan, saying it included two blood tests per year and that we could use them when our dog got sick. When my dog suddenly became ill on Saturday, November 1, we took her there — I was holding her in my arms — but the receptionist told me they couldn’t see her because we didn’t have an appointment. She went to the back to ask and came back saying they “don’t take emergencies.” People in line saw what happened and were shocked by the lack of empathy. We had to drive 45 minutes to another hospital and pay for everything again, even though it was supposedly covered by the plan. Sadly, my dog died shortly after. It’s unacceptable that a place calling itself a hospital would refuse to check even basic vital signs. A sick pet deserves compassion, not bureaucracy. I’ve been trying to cancel the plan for a week with no success.

For 11 years now. Professional, understanding, caring, loving, thorough, gentle, friendly, clean and comforting. From the staff at front desk to the staff in the back, my experience every time is a A+. Sure, not everyone will be happy, but to maintain every goal mentioned comes from nothing but care for what they do. Dr. Knight is a treasure at Banfield and I sure hope they recognize how incredibly valuable she is.

We’ve been coming here for 5 years, it’s been fine. Last week I called due to my dog having an anaphylactic reaction to a sting and I was unsure if she would make it to the Urgent Care. After asking if she could double check with the vet if they could please administer Benadryl or steroids I was told no and “that we are actually closing early today”. That’s fine if your policy is to provide NO emergency needs, but to tell me you’re closing early after I’ve said my dogs throat was swelling is fairly crappy. I’m a nurse, I can’t imagine telling a patient that my shift is over and good luck with that anaphylactic reaction. Care more.
