Dr. Max is great to all my fur babies. He helped us tremendously when we had to put down our fur baby and he is always listening and answering question. I plan to make all of our appointments with him!

Very affordable, extremely nice and helpful. They will never try to scam you (I’ve seen them once and I can seriously tell). Helping my flea baby with Bartonella 🥺. I was so scared because she is already a very special cat that does slow things so for her to look really sick I was terrified something terrible happened. They educated me on what soaps I can and can’t use and recommended better food for my half size tiny girl who struggles with eating food. 1000% coming back. The whole exam, antibiotic treatment, and flea juice (all applied at the office with instructions sent home for the antibiotics) cost $101. LIKE WHAT!?! I love you guys so much 😭. Special shout out to Dr. Karen Purcell with her great experience and knowledge in veterinary medicine. Mayonnaise (cat) loved her ❤️

Dr. Purcell is great but the vet techs here are unprofessional and incompetent. Today, I took my cat in for his laser treatment for stomatitis and when Ana brought him back out, I asked if she had weighed him. Dr. Purcell told me that the techs were to weigh him each time he comes in because he was losing weight and not eating enough. The tech did not weigh him. She got mad at me for asking and took my cat out of his carrier while we were in the lobby with dogs and other people, then carried him off into a room. This was highly unprofessional and not a secure way to handle a cat, as this can cause them panic or run off and hide in the lobby or worse, get attacked by a dog! She came back with my cat and almost knocked the carrier off the chair trying to put him back in it in the lobby. Ana then told me that he gained weight almost a pound. I questioned her because on Friday (today is Monday), he weighed less and he barely ate any food all weekend. Ana shrugged her shoulders and said that's what it is. How does a cat gain almost a pound in 3 days when it's not eating? My first red flag with the unprofessionalism was his first laser treatment. The vet techs were at the desk laughing at a video they took of my cat getting treatment. He was struggling with the goggles on and they thought to take a video of it for themselves. I should have not returned after that and it's a shame they've taken $210 from me for treatments and this is what they do to my cat. There's only 2 treatments left, but he is not getting better and I won't risk him being mishandled for a 3rd time (I regret not ending visits after the first issue). I've contacted another vet and will not be returning with either of my cats to Smithfield. Again, issue is not the vet herself, but the other staff need to be disciplined or fired. Just ridiculous.

Everyone here is amazing - I recommend this location to all of my friends. The clinical and reception staff are all wonderful. So friendly, understanding, and helpful every time. Jessica was a major help with resolving some administrative issues over the phone and was very nice to speak to. I will never go to another vet. The pet wellness plans are more than worth it and staff go above and beyond every time.
