The folks here are nice but everytime I go they try to push treatment on me that I dont feel like my dog needs. I went in bc my dog has an allergy that makes her shew at her tail all the time. They gave her a shot, amd told me that my dog had a lump on her breast but they won't evem test it for concer unless I agree to get her fixed. I wouldn't. Then after giving her this shot every month I noticed my dogs appetite and thrist has gone way up, so the medication has made dog gain 2.5 pounds and now they are saying shear have a thyroid condition. All these things they suggest aren't covered by the care plan they talked me in to on the first visit. They said to cut her food intake in half and when she still gained weight they said do it again. I feel like im starving dog and I know its the medication doing it. Im just done. And really I feel like the shampoo they gave me is helping her not the shot. Im taking her off the shot, amd im done when this health plan expires.

I’ve been a loyal Banfield client since 2004, but this location has been the worst experience I’ve ever had. The staff here shows a nonchalant, dismissive, and unprofessional attitude, especially when pets are sick or when clear communication is critical. Their lack of urgency and accountability contributed to the heartbreaking loss of two of my senior dogs, and they continue to provide inconsistent, confusing guidance for younger pets—especially puppies under six months. Expect poor communication, zero transparency, and frequent gaslighting. They often blame the owners, push unnecessary charges, and fail to honor or properly explain what the wellness plan should cover. If you’re not prepared to pay out of pocket for every visit, regardless of your plan, you’ll be constantly frustrated. There is also one staff member ‘Sagunda’ or something like that who serves as the “face” of this location, whose attitude is shockingly unprofessional and makes every interaction unpleasant. If you must use Banfield, go to the Capital Boulevard location instead. These past 10 years, Banfield at Knightdale have declined drastically—I highly recommend you avoid this one—your pets deserve better care and you as the owner deserve far better treatment than what you’ll receive here.

From the moment I arrive with my fur baby, we are pleasantly greeted. The staff remembers my fur baby by name as soon as we walk into the building. It means a lot to me. I'm very comfortable allowing the staff to care for my baby. From the team working in the front, to the team administering treatment in the clinic they are an outstanding crew.

I have one star because it won’t allow me to give zero stars. I had an absolutely devastating experience with this Banfield location and strongly urge others to steer clear. My dog was brought in for what the vet described as a “routine” surgery to address a health issue. Unfortunately, the procedure was done incorrectly. When I arrived to pick him up, I was told he was “having some difficulty.” They asked me to pull my car around, and then essentially handed me my dog—who was visibly struggling to breathe. Panicked, we rushed him to an emergency vet where he was placed in an oxygen chamber. He was diagnosed with a paralyzed trachea and, tragically, we lost him shortly after due to complications directly related to the surgery. This loss was entirely preventable and the result of gross negligence. No pet—and no pet owner—should have to go through what we did.
