  Worst experience ever with this animal clinic! Our 25lb dog gets anxiety and usually isn't aggressive towards anyone but the vet took our dog to another room for ONE shot and after about two minutes our dog was returned to the room we were waiting in and told us she couldn't control our dog for the shot. I really feel this vet was very inexperienced with dogs. The vet wanted to prescribe GABAPENTIN to calm our dog! Are you kidding me! No! We don't give our fur baby unnecessary drugs! It's used for seizures! So our time was wasted. This was our first and LAST visit with vetco in huntersville. We have scheduled our dogs appointment with a more experienced vet who can handle a little dog. Also it's not uncommon for a dog to urinate when they're nervous, surely the vet should know that but acted as if it was just a horrible thing. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!

  Worst vet experience I’ve ever had, doctor was very disrespected, we brought our blue mastiff in because there was something wrong with her turns out she needs a emergency removal of the cervix, I ask if it can be saved some how not knowing the severity of the matter, the doctor was very disrespected, and on top of it she said she’d give us meds, turns out the surgery is 7k honestly I don’t have it, and at the end she doesn’t give us the meds and straight referral to someone else, this woman is very unprofessional, would not recommend this company,…

  We’re so thankful for huntersville total care hospital. Dr. Cox was quick to take the time to help us in an emergency so close to closing when she could’ve sent us away. The whole staff was so kind to us and took great care of our baby.

  I switched to Vetco in Huntersville, NC, 3 years ago because of their great prices and excellent care. In the last year, I have noticed, there is almost never anyone at the counter when I come in for an appointment and much longer wait times that usual. Last appointment for a check up took over an hour. They then did a urinalysis for a bladder leaking issue my dog had. They said they would call me in a day or two with results. After 3 days, and I hadn’t heard from them I called only to get voicemail on 3 separate occasions and I left a voicemail to call me because I had not heard back and still nothing. Today I got a text, over a week later, saying they saw I left a message and my dog has a severe UTI and I need to come in and get antibiotics. They also said they left me a message August 28th and that is not true because I was checking daily and I have been receiving messages from several other people. I came in today to get the antibiotic and again no one at the desk. Rang the bell and was told on two different occasions sorry someone will be with you soon. After 30 minutes they finally got with me and said oh the prescription is not ready, the wrong quantity was filled and we have to redo it. The last several visits have been frustrating, with this one been the final straw, that made me decide to go back to my old Vet clinic. Hope this feedback at least helps future customers.   I came in August to get shots for my senior cat and get a referral so he could get an eye surgery. He saw Dr.Zavala. They gave me a pamphlet for an eye specialist and claimed they sent a referral, I waited several days and when I called the specialist after not receiving a follow up call. The specialist notified me they NEVER RECEIVED A REFERRAL (they also failed to give a proper perscription, they said they went it to a cvs, when i showed up the pharmacist trying to ask for a prescription for my cat they looked at me like i was insane, so they also failed to even send in a prescription). when I called for an explaination about this I never recieved a phone call or even a voicemail explanation. I couldn't see the specialist without that referral and it cost my 9 year old cat his life. Never take your pets here I wouldn't trust them ever. Pictures below are him before his eye lost sight and after (Update) It's been five months since Nightcrawler had passed I saw the response petco made claiming they updated their team and that they'd "be in touch". Yeah ovbiously that was a lie. Not one phone call. Not one email. You cost the life of my service animal that was my family. You all should be ashamed of yourselves.
