  I had an incredibly positive experience with Petco Grooming in Hickory, NC. I came in one day last week to ask some questions. I have a 4 month old puppy who is half husky/half small dog mixed breed. I've never had a dog before who had enough of a coat to worry about more than a bath. I spoke to Jaime, who was at the desk about what my dog might possibly need. She made some fantastic suggestions and wrote her name down for me. She also uploaded all of my dog's vet paperwork while I was there. Yesterday, Monday 2/2/26, I brought my dog- Pumpernickel- in for a puppy bath and a face/feet/fanny trim as suggested. When I came to pick her up, Jaime walked me through all that they did. She explained that my dog showed no signs of aggression, but was definitely afraid of EVERYTHING (which tracks for her personality). Jaime went out of her way to explain simple things I can do at home to make the grooming experience better for her going forward and recommended a grooming routine that works with my budget and my schedule. She also recommended keeping the puppy with the same groomer to help build/trust confidence- but didn't once insist it should just be HER. But, obviously, I am going to go back to her. Today I booked the follow up service as requested. I even reached out to the grooming salon manager because my experience was so incredibly positive and I was shown so much consideration and kindness.

  My dog is very nervous but Savannah has her calm by the time I pick her up. Savannah gives excellent service and very pleasant. My dog has been here for years and I’ve never been disappointed.

  Savanna is a wonderful Groomer. I have a 2 year old Chow. Even as busy as they were with it being the week before Christmas, Savanna did not skimp on any of the grooming! Smokey looks great, smells great and was happy. I got a cute handmade ornament of Smokey and Savanna even painted Smokey’s toenails. Nova, our granddog also loves Savanna! Thank you Petco.

  Last two times we’ve taken our fur baby in the haven’t done everything they were supposed to. His dew claws are extremely long, his ears weren’t cleaned, and anal glands not done. Not 100% sure his teeth were cleaned either. He doesn’t have any hair to cut other than the sanitary trim between his toes, but we still have to pay $57+. I expect everything that’s supposed to be done to be done at that price. Now I have to find somewhere to get him in , pay more money out of pocket , and get his nails done before he winds up getting it caught and causing an infection. I just went back and looked at emails and both say Sierra L. Well Sierra L. If you can’t handle a 10/11 lb Chihuahua with very little hair , then you don’t need to be working in the grooming industry.
