Alyssa & Skylar are amazing! They are kind and patient with the owners as well as their fur baby. Our dog just graduated from one of their programs and we already see so much improvement! We highly recommend them due to their knowledgable training and support system for alumni. We are so thankful for all the love and care they put into their work 😊🐶

My puppy (7) months learned so much in his 4 trainings Alyssa is great to work with. My boy is stubborn and she was patient with him. This is not an overnight process and you as the owner have to do your part. Sit Means Sit gave me the tools and resources to help make my puppy more manageable. This is a life long investment I would recommend them to anyone !!

I can not speak highly enough of Alyssa at sit means sit. Our dog Bentley couldn't control his own energy before he came here. He would think it was playtime all the time and play tug of war with his leash. We dropped him off a day each week for 4 weeks. We could immediately see the change in the fact he actually listened and was civilized. Roughly 6 months after, he had a problem with doing whatever he wants on the leash since he wants to sniff everything. We contacted them, dropped him off one more day (No, they didn't charge us anything!!) Bentley is a model citizen now and knows how to control his own energy inside and outside of the house now thanks to Alyssa and sit means sit!

Do you only train with the Sit Means Sit collar?
We utilize a diverse approach to dog training at Sit Means Sit. Our attention-based system, developed by our founder and CEO Fred Hassen, incorporates various training tools. While we often use our customized Sit Means Sit collar, it's just one of the tools in our arsenal. This electronic collar uses safe, adjustable stimulation similar to medical devices like TENS units. It functions as a remote-controlled cue, comparable to tapping someone's shoulder for attention. Our training process teaches dogs to associate this cue with positive outcomes, allowing for effective communication even in distracting environments.
Does the trained dog always have to wear the Sit Means Sit dog collar?
Reinforcement is an ongoing part of dog training, similar to how traffic laws require continuous enforcement. The need for reinforcement varies among dogs, but proper training can lead to increased reliability even without training aids. Our training process involves three phases: teaching/control, reinforcement, and maintenance. The goal is to gradually reduce dependence on the collar while maintaining consistent behavior. Even after training, occasional reinforcement may be necessary, much like how drivers still need reminders of traffic rules. Our commitment is to help you achieve your training goals and maintain your dog's good behavior long-term.
