I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Banfield at White Oak. It used to be one of my favorites, but has gone down hill within the last year or so. I was told my cat was dying, which was incredibly upsetting... only to later find out from another veterinarian and a cardiologist that this was not true. That kind of misinformation causes unnecessary panic and erodes trust.
On top of that, appointments are canceled far too often. Due to my recent appointment being canceled again, I angrily raised this concern with Jay, the office manager. He excused it due to the New Year holiday, even though I explained this has happened to me repeatedly. After reading other Google reviews, it’s clear this is an ongoing issue, not a one-off situation. Although Jay promised I would still be seen during my appointment time, I don't appreciate my valid concern being brushed off like this is the first time this has happened at the practice.
The only consistently positive part of this office is Jami at the front desk, who has been kind, professional and helpful.
Overall, this location has serious issues with communication, reliability and quality of care. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion if you’re given serious or alarming information here. With my dog and cat on OWP, I continue to go to this location for convenience, but I may look elsewhere moving forward.

Heartbreaking experience at Banfield Pet Hospital Garner. Dropped off my cat on Dec 15, 2025 at 7:10am, for care, and he passed away 10-15 minutes after I left him with a staff member. Around 7:30am, that was when I got to my car. He died following a blood draw procedure that was done without a vet present. I was called at 7:43am. No vet was on premises when he died. What's worse is they didn't contact me afterwards after the initial call right after he coded. I was told someone would call me, I had to call them to get any update after the initial call from them on that day it happened, 8 days later. When I finally called, I was told his remains were there waiting to be picked up. I called them! The lack of communication and transparency about what happened has been really tough. Feeling frustrated and let down by the care he received. Wouldn't recommend without hesitation.
Update: I've still not heard the reason 21 days later and I'm seeing that everything is fully paid for even with an amount due on my account. Over $2K, I should have paid for, for free. That's telling. I didn't pick the urn, the process, the necropsy, the paw prints, etc. They did all that.

Took my dog in for updated shots as routine. Upon examine we found out he was extremely close to having an ear infection however we were told a cleanser would help. Couple days later he’s starts to head tilt. Got an appointment few days later and waited over 30 minutes to get into a room then another 20 to be seen. Vet tech was not very friendly. Just like we thought he had a severe ear infection, they prescribed medication however we had to pay for another examination fee and everything under the sun. Cost over $220 for just this visit. All they care about is money and shoving the wellness plan down your throat.

We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
