  My dog Henry, who is a doodle, received a groom at this location on Friday 4/17/26 Katelyn was very sweet, but I am not happy with the $159.44 cut. Henry’s face is uneven, his tail is incredibly uneven, and he has a huge bald spot near his upper chest area. Overall, it’s an awkward looking cut, and I’m also disappointed in how it seems like they take advantage of doodle owners. I came in already wanting a shave down because it’s summer, and doodles get hot during the summer anyway. I don’t understand why a simple shave down required so many up charges, just for my dog to come out looking like no care was put in the cut. Also, his tail was shaved (which is fine) but there is also a very weird unevenness on his tail, almost like a line of demarcation. Petco is not my usual groomer, and this is my first time ever coming here for a groom. This is overall a great location with very sweet staff (I come here to buy pet supplies) but unfortunately, I will never come back for a groom.

  If your dog has anxiety and is on any kind of medication they won't groom them. My dog as been on Prozac years and has been to other Petco's with no problem, but apparently this one has a policy where they won't take them.

  I am writing this review to warn any customer from purchasing dog food from Petco in the Durham region, specifically their line of food, Wholehearted at 4011 Durham Chapel Hill Blvd. I purchased a bag of dog food from this location that was infested with webs, moths and larvae. This is unacceptable for any product, especially pet food. When I returned it, I was only offered a refund or an exchange for the same brand -- despite clear concerns about a possible infestation issue. It was laughed about that, "this happens when we don't have climate control in our warehouse." No effort was made to offer compensation or a price adjustment if I chose to purchase a different line of dog food instead from this Petco location. I asked for a discount such as 10% off of our purchase of a different brand of food due to the major health concern surrounding Wholehearted, yet the manager was unaccommodating. This response was extremely dismissive given the seriousness of the issue and I will never be returning as a Petco customer.
