The staff at CVS are amazing. We walked in on a Friday night and were seen within minutes. From the front desk to the vet tech to the doctor, everyone was friendly and compassionate. I appreciated the level of detail as we talked through potential causes and courses of action. I will definitely be returning if we have another pet emergency!

I have a 7 year old Great Dane who severely tore his ACL and needed surgery ASAP. CVS was amazing throughout the entire process, particularly Dr Cortes and his entire team, who took tremendous care of my fur baby. The communication was great as well as the customer service. I could tell they sincerely care about each and every one of their patients. Moving forward, I wouldn’t trust my dog with any other vet other than Dr Cortes and his team in Charlotte. It is the best experience I’ve ever had and I highly recommend- they will take care of your fur baby! Thank you Dr Cortes and your team for the wonderful care. I can’t thank them enough for their kindness and professionalism throughout this process.

Can the staff at this location be any more dry and unenthusiastic about life or your pet?? We brought our pup in for emergency services and and the staff is cold and unfriendly. It's drab and dreary and their pricing is extremely inflated. I think they take advantage of your emotions for your pet by charging ridiculous prices. Why is it necessary to spend thousands just to take care of your pet? It's not that people don't care about their pet or are being cheap, but why should I WANT to spend thousands of dollars on a vet visit? Why am I required to spend more on my dog than I do on my own health care when they clearly need medical care? They actually charge $10 to clean up waste. I won't be back.

Spoke with an unprofessional rep here who did not care at all. Just said I can’t tell you anything without blood work. I began with another question and she was saying ok as to hang up. I asked for another representative…Jalisa got on the phone sounding a little frustrated… I could tell that the last representative had told her about the situation…she called me love at the end of every sentence. I asked her nicely not to do that and she continued…I then asked for her name as well as the person I just spoke with. She said I don’t know who you just spoke with… I informed her that I need a supervisor, she refused, said have a good day and hung up!

Our dog Dexter became lethargic, was vomiting, & refused to eat or drink. We took him to 2 other vets before being recommended CVS for fluids, an ultrasound, and gastro meds. Sept 15 he was admitted & spent 2 nights there. The vets went back & forth on his diagnosis. They took 2 sets of X-rays on top of the primary vets that was emailed to them. There was no obvious bowel obstruction. They refused to do an ultrasound to diagnose and gain information on what was causing his issues. I was told by 2 different vets “we cant force him to do an ultrasound,” meaning the internist. I asked later who the internist is & was told Dr. Delles. He said he may or may not be able to get to him the next day, which would be day 3 being there. Dexter was neglected by them refusing an ultrasound to definitively diagnose him. That was the whole reason we went there, and I will never understand how they can put primary appointments before emergency cases. We were told to transfer him to a sister facility, allow them to do exploratory surgery, or euthanize. Dexter had not eaten in 4 days at this point, & had been vomiting off & on for 7. The risk of bowel rupture was significantly increasing. They also did not give him any pain meds & a bowel obstruction is extremely painful. We decided to do the humane thing and euthanize him Sept 17th for quality of life before he had a bowel rupture or a very risky exploratory surgery. The office then took a month to get us back his remains. The person who orders the cremation upgraded our urn just because. They were told it was on back order & would be 2 weeks at least. That was not communicated to us until Oct 7th, 3 weeks later, after multiple calls to them. They told us he would be delivered the Monday after that, he wasnt. We called back Tuesday told them to call the crematory & change the urn to whatever was available They told us he would be delivered Thursday, he wasn’t. We finally got the name of the crematory, called them, & he was delivered the next day. They shouldn't have ordered a special urn without asking & should have communicated instead of us calling and changing the urn & checking delivery. Their response is untrue. They NEVER followed up with us unless we called first and they called us back such as after finally calling cremation services when we demanded. The ONLY time they called us about it was to let us know he had been delivered which we already knew since the cremation office had called to let us know. We were already on the way there by the time they called us. They want to place blame on the cremation services when in reality our contract was with them not the cremation office, who we never should have had to contact. Regardless according to the cremation services, they did tell them when the urn was ordered that it was back ordered and it should have been communicated to us earlier. Even if that person didn’t tell the front office, no one in the office tried to find out what was taking so long with repeated calls about the remains. It wasn’t until I called angrily and asked them to call cremation services for answers or I would call myself before they finally admitted it was on back order. Report them to NCVMB if they are neglectful to your pets! This gross negligent behavior does not need to continue for others!
