We used this location for grooming. They called to extend the time to give extra care to our nervous pet. Then when I arrived for pickup, the manager stated the need to ensure an even trim and so Emma worked to give that final touch. Very pleased with the outcome

I’ve been a loyal Petco customer for about five years and generally have had good experiences. Recently, I went in to buy some mollies for my newly cycled tank. I explained that I used water from my well-established fish tank and that I had introduced snails to show the tank was stable and had living creatures thriving in it. However, the staff member insisted on discussing ammonia and nitrate levels and wouldn’t sell me the fish until I brought in water for testing. While I understand the importance of water quality, the way it was handled felt a bit patronizing, especially since I’ve been in the hobby for a couple of years. I was really just looking for a little help identifying the fish’s gender, not a lecture on cycling a tank I already cycled. I hope that in the future, experienced hobbyists can be treated with a bit more trust and respect.

I stopped in to purchase wax worms for my Leppard Gecko as these worms are all he will eat. When I got home with them, nothing was alive in the container. Every one was black and completely dried up. This is so ridiculous!! I work in Cary but live in Chapel Hill. I was not driving back to Cary that day. I plan on going by today to seek an exchange for something alive. If I am not granted an exchange I will not be happy.

I met Jessika, the in-store trainer at Petco, completely by chance when I brought my newly blind dog, Zoey, in to get some exercise out of the rain. Jessika immediately connected with Zoey and mentioned she had experience working with another blind dog. That caught my attention, and after a confident and compassionate explanation of how she could help, I signed up for four 1-hour training sessions. Within the first hour, Zoey was already showing success with recall—one of our biggest challenges since her blindness. Each week, we built on that progress, and by the final session, Zoey was able to walk across the entire store to come when called. Jessika also addressed Zoey’s other major issue: incessant barking. Her techniques are already making a difference. Jessika went beyond basic training—she helped me understand Zoey’s biology, which reduced potty accidents, and explained why Zoey was having regression moments during recall. She gave me practical tools to support Zoey through those challenges. What really stood out was how Jessika empowered me to continue training Zoey on my own. She recognized the work Zoey and I were already doing and never tried to upsell more services. I truly believe that if Zoey had needed more formal training, Jessika would have been more than happy to continue working with her. Her honesty and encouragement were incredibly refreshing. After just four hours with Jessika, I feel confident and equipped to help Zoey live her best life. If you have a dog with unique needs—especially a blind dog—Jessika is the trainer you want. She’s knowledgeable, empathetic, and genuinely invested in helping both dogs and their humans succeed.
