The staff across the board at Banfield in Mehlville is caring, knowledgeable, and incredibly empathetic. The 4 stars reflects Banfield's pricing being too high. I can't stress enough how much I trust the doctors, techs, and staff at the Mehlville Banfield!

I came to Banfield pet hospital for a regular blood test and cancer screening blood test for my almost 10-year-old Australian shepherd Cisco. It was time for his checkup and blood test, he gets stress seizures after the appointments due to his anxiety. The regular blood test results arrived on time, but they took two weeks to answer my email asking about the results for the cancer screening blood test. They had lost the blood vial, and they wanted me to take him to go get his blood drawn again. I brought him back, he got his blood drawn and then had his stress seizure when he got home. It was not the best experience as I also had to wait 40 minutes to be let into a vet room. Two more weeks go by, I email them for the results again, and they call me to say that they were able to send the blood, but they put it in the wrong kind of vial and needed Cisco to come in to do a blood test yet again. Again. I take him there and he had his blood drawn by a beginner vet and she poked him 10 times (in the same spot) to be able to draw blood. He was not happy at all and looked petrified. Finally we were done and left the building. On the way home, I get a call from them saying to come back (!!!!!!!) , because they just so happened to call the company that does this test and just then were told that they needed to provide two vials of blood. Instead of the employees already asking that before they sent the original vial of blood, they were not aware and did not have all the information needed. Horrible. I had to turn around, take him into the building again, and have them draw his blood again. My poor guy had a seizure the moment he came into the car when we left the building. I asked for a refund, and they said they would put positive credit on my account. I did not want positive credit because I would not be coming back here, so that meant nothing to me. I did not want a refund for the original regular blood draw, I wanted either half or full refund on the 160$ I spent on this cancer screening test. I did not pay to be dragged back three times to do his blood draw, I paid for it to happen one time and receive the results. The manager refused to give me a half or full refund, terrible experience, will not be coming back.
