I came to MMK9 pretty desperate. I have a 2-year-old, 110lb American Bulldog mix named Dez (my first dog ever) and the last couple of years had been genuinely overwhelming. Multiple moves, major life changes, and a dog with more energy, muscles, and impulse control problems than I knew how to handle. I consulted with four different trainers before MMK9 and just didn't feel right about any of them.
But I was referred to MMK9 and what was supposed to be a 30-minute consultation turned into 2.5 hours. Chris immediately connected with Dez and saw him as Dez, not another dog to put through a program. He understood what I was dealing with (partially because Dez peed on the treadmill within 5 seconds), took my concerns seriously, and made me feel like Dez was in genuinely good hands.
It was hard to drop him off for a whole month, but I saw real progress every week I visited. And when they brought him home, his eyes were genuinely brighter, he was more engaged, more responsive. And they trained me a lot too, including real-world training sessions (shout-out Hannah!)
I came in just trying to survive the day with him. I left actually understanding him; his communication, his needs, what he's really capable of.
The best money I've ever spent. If you're on the fence, go meet Chris and team!
