Loaches can survive in gravel, But sand is strongly preferred and safer to prevent injury to their delicate barbels and skin. While they do not "not go in" gravel, sharp edges can damage them, and they cannot exhibit natural, healthy burrowing behavior in large, rough gravel. Other than this the store and it's cashier are very nice

I came in today to grab some worms for the geckos. The cashier asked if I was a rewards member and when I said no asked if I wanted to join. I said no thank you. He waited a bit then hugely sighed and said “well if your sure” then gave me my total. At the end of the transaction he didn’t even bother to say thank you. Completely rude!

I’ve been going to this Petco for the last few months to purchase food and other toys for my cat, and the cashier Juanita has always been kind. However, after going to this store to purchase new items for my new puppy, I am extremely upset with the way I was spoken to and treated by her. As someone who works in customer service, it’s very rare that I would ever go out of my way to mention how an employee treated me, let alone remember a name. It was that bad. First, she kept asking very intrusive questions and pressing me to very openly judge me. I love talking to strangers, but this was not a friendly conversation. Without even saying hello, she immediately asked if he was neutered yet. He is only eight weeks old, so not yet, which I happily shared. I was met with a scoff, which I thought was odd. She then very roughly said “Take the items off of the counter, I don’t need to look at them.” Very odd, but whatever. She then pressed me and my sister (who was with me) for whose dog it was, who was buying the items, why we hadn’t done anything for the puppy yet, and if we “even knew what we were doing.” I have had this puppy for maybe an hour at most, and i’m already spending at least 100-150 dollars on supplies. He doesn’t even have a name yet! Her attitude was completely different from the few times she had spoken to me about my cat, who I equally spoil as well. I adore my pets, and the odd statements she made were out of line. She rolled her eyes at all my answers, and then shoved the receipt into my hand. No goodbye, nor a word, only a strange look and a bad feeling in my stomach. I will not be coming back. Not even if it were my only option. She has been kind every time we have spoken prior, but I left with tears in my eyes after buying my items. This is my first dog since my childhood dog passed, and I was already on edge going into a pet store to purchase supplies. The words of your staff matter, as do their invasive questions and rough temperament.
