They managed to take my snake in on the same day which was great, the wait was a little long but the work was very much worth it! Everyone was kind and understanding which gave the environment a more welcoming energy. Also everything was very nicely priced so i didnt have to break the bank! 10/10 will be visiting again

Disappointed is overall emotion towards this animal hospital. We brought our rabbit in with a growth that needed to be tested to determine what exactly it was. The results were said to take a week to come back and we would receive a call with more information and potential treatment options. After many calls and voicemails (apparent notes left for the vet to get back with us) no communication back. SIX weeks after initial visit the doctor finally got back with us at 9:00 pm and it was cancerous and aggressive. Once we received the copy of the results by email they were dated 7 days after the first appointment. By this time out pet had been seen by the only other vet within hours of our location and it was sadly too late. The time that was taken between the initial appointment led to the growth more than doubling in size to where there were there was no possibility for the previous options to be considered. We understand that there were family circumstances that impacted a member of this hospital. However this is a business with many other employees that can bare the load when lives are in their care.

I used to go to James River animal hospital for my rabbit, and 7 years ago it was good. I had recently stopped going because the front desk lady is always distracted And the doctor was lazy never put in much effort. My rabbit was never cured of his issues anytime I went there. I just went to Best Friends Animal Hospital and turns out my rabbit has kidney stones. The doctor said it’s the biggest one he’s seen. And he’s worried about surgery, with my rabbit being eight years old he might not wake up from anesthesia. I went to James River animal Hospital two years ago for the same symptoms and they didn’t bother to run an x-ray, just gave me UTI medication. And in those two years, my rabbit just kept getting worse and worse. So please pray for my rabbit. His surgery is on Monday. And don’t take your rabbits to James River animal Hospital because they will not cure the problem and your rabbit might end up like mine.

JRAH is absolutely amazing. I have a cat named okami, in the beginning my bf and I thought it was liver issues due to small amounts of jaundice. After care with JRAH, we know what’s really going on from there expertise. My okami boy had masses and referred us to get an ultrasound, they were amazing as well. Also dr hardy did a biopsy to see if the masses were a sort of cancer and sent it off to be seen by 3 different places. After the biopsy, we did have to come back next day bc my cat decided to jump where he shouldn’t have and opened his sutures, the vet assistant helped us with funds for a cone and a collar to also keep my cat from messing with it. We got the results in 1 week. Found out my baby boy doesn’t have cancer but he has a 12 long word haha, to sum it up an auto-immune deficiency and inflammation issues. A lot of people will say it’s a terrible place, but after spending roughly $2000 to get my cat the help he needs, I highly recommend JRAH.They are the sweetest and they work with you. Thank you guys again for helping my baby boy. He isn’t just a cat to us but me and my bfs son. He is so more energetic and playful now. I really appreciate all you guys do and your hard work.

I've used JRAH for years with a previous pet so we took our new puppy there to be spayed. The surgery went fine, but 4 days later, i noticed her incision was infected and she was very, very lethargic - definitely sick and needing antibiotics. I called JRAH and asked for my pup to be seen sometime that day (they were open) and was told by the front desk girl that she couldn't get us in until the next day. I told her this was a post-op infection and I really wanted to get her on meds that day if possible. Emergency reactions from surgeries performed at that vet should be prioritized but she refused because they had too many scheduled (non-emergency) appointments, but i could come in the next day or "call around" to other vets. So, I called around and we were seen by a wonderful clinic in Ozark. They saw her immediately and were appalled that Dr. Hardy wouldn't see her that day. Fast forward to today, we went back to JRAH to get my pup's stitches removed. I told Dr. Hardy what had happened, because i assumed that the front desk girl needed a little coaching and thought he should know what had happened. I assumed that it wasn't his intention for one of his patients to be turned away with a post-op infection from a surgery he conducted. He got very defensive and said "Well i can't just fire everybody!" and got very worked up about how its hard to find any decent help and he's basically stuck with who he has. I said it might warrant a conversation with her because we had to pay for an emergency visit elsewhere and would thus be moving our business to that vet. He then used foul language & was defending his lack of "good help." He then says "So are you wanting a refund for the spay?" I was very taken aback. I had not once insinuated that i wouldn't be paying for services rendered - only that his front desk receptionist was unhelpful & unprofessional. When i said i didn't want a refund, he looked relieved and left the room. The vet tech was AMAZING and I felt horrible that she was stuck in the middle of it all. It's clear JRAH has a staffing & communication problem, to say the least. There are many good vets in Nixa/ SWMO. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
