  ​I am writing this to caution owners of double-coated breeds—particularly Pomeranians—regarding the substandard care at this location. Our experience was defined by a total disregard for professional protocols and a failure to honor explicit service agreements. ​At intake, I specifically challenged the "shave clause" in the contract regarding mats. I was verbally reassured by staff that "Petco does not shave Pomeranians" and that a scissor-blending technique would be utilized. During a follow-up call at 11:17 AM, the groomer stated they needed to go shorter to remove mats; we again explicitly mandated the use of scissors and reiterated that clippers were strictly prohibited. ​Despite these clear directives, the groomer chose to shave our 7-month-old Pomeranian to 1/4 inch. The evidence of clipper use is undeniable: the length is unnaturally uniform across the body, and the "trail" of the machine head is clearly visible, especially at the neck transition. This "short-cut" method has left our puppy with a botched "Teddy Bear" style that is jagged, uneven, and dangerously short. ​This is not merely a cosmetic issue; it is a matter of canine health. Shaving a double coat destroys the natural thermal regulation and risks Clipper Alopecia, where the hair may return with a straw-like texture or fail to grow back for an entire year. ​Furthermore, there is a clear issue with the professional culture at this salon. For the second consecutive time, we arrived on time to our 8:00 AM appointment and the staff failed to arrive until 8:15 AM. While 15 minutes may seem minor, it is a symptom of a larger problem: if a staff is comfortable disregarding punctuality, they are comfortable cutting corners on the technical requirements of their craft. Rather than performing the labor-intensive scissoring we requested and would have gladly paid a premium for, they took the "easy path" with clippers. ​We received an unauthorized shave that has left our pet looking like a cat and his coat potentially damaged for life. Owners who value breed-standard care should look elsewhere.

  Tracey our groomer is the reason why I would reccommend a someone. This was our 92 lb dog, Jabari, 1st time being groomed and Tracey calmed me and him down and reassured us he would be ok. And we were! There was a time in the service where Jabari was overwhelmed so Tracey paused service, allowed him to rest, loved on him, gave him his treats, and then resumed service once he was ready. He gets super anxious when we wash him at home so it's been months with out a wash. We were both so happy after him wash. We went home and snuggled for like 5 mins that's all I get lol

  Very upset I brought in my puppy and was very specific with details letting them know my baby was getting ready for Christmas pictures and that I wanted her to look very nice that I wanted her hair to be slightly trimmed making sure to keep her hair to me picking my baby up, who has been shaved all the way down, not to mention, cutting her ponytail that I have been trying to grow out since she’s been born very very upset .
