We started taking our 8 week old puppy to Banfield when we brought her home. I can’t describe how amazing all the staff were. Our puppy had some issues with pneumonia, a UTI, diarrhea, an eye infection, and a bleeding paw. They always took outstanding care of her and followed up to see how she was doing the next day. We had the puppy plan through Banfield and it paid for itself within 1-2 visits. They recognized that sometimes pet intake took a while so they changed their process and it definitely improved things. Both vets were so helpful and answered our umpteen questions. We ended up moving 1 hour away but have contemplated continuing to bring the puppy there because all the staff love her so much ❤️

These folks need a few lessons on customer service and learning the basics of friendliness. We came to PetSmart on Monday (03/16) to pick up some prescription dietary food for one of our pet’s. We stopped at the Banfield desk to pick up a copy of the prescription card and the service that we experienced was beyond belief. I could go into a play by play of the interaction that I had with the staff member, but to make a long story short she was very rude, gave short one word answers, and had me recontact my Byron vet to have them resend the prescription. When I talked with my Byron vet they had said that they had faxed it previously. I asked them to resend it because the individual, sitting at the desk wanted it resent. The second fax never arrived so Byron asked if they could email it, which was done without issue. At the very end of interaction she came out from the back handed me the prescription card, didn’t say one word, turned around and walked away. Overall, The interaction during that conversation left me with a feeling of what the hell just happened.
Even my wife, who had been watching the entire incident, was speechless as we left the store. All she could say was that I needed to let someone know about the incident we had just experienced.
We deal with Banfield because PetSmart carries the dietary food that our pet requires. Beyond that I would not recommend anyone to use their services based on the individual that we had to deal with that evening. She was completely rude and void of all emotion and non-communicative. The exact opposite of what a business wants representing them.

We've been taking our cats to Banfield for years. While there have been plenty of vets and assistants who were kind and patient and friendly, as of late the front desk has been handled by a person who is incredibly disinterested, off-putting, and often rude. She does not engage or interact with the pets, she frequently is not paying attention to what we say and asks the same questions multiple times. She is incredibly slow, unresponsive, volunteers little information, and we have seen her be rude to other people in front of us in line, including, recently, somebody with a speech impediment, who she was impatient with and did not appear willing to accommodate.
She appears unkind, judgmental, and most importantly: like she does not care about the pets. This attitude is something I'd brush off in a restaurant or hotel or supermarket; It's okay to not like your job. But if you are bored and don't like or care about animals and can't even pretend to be interested, you absolutely cannot work, even as an assistant, in medical care for animals. It seems like it wouldn't affect the experience that much, but it really, really does. We've been leaving appointments stressed out and angry because of this experience of being repeatedly dismissed and spoken to like us paying to take our cats in for medical treatment is a personal inconvenience to this person.
It is a lot of work to get a cat to the vet, and one of our cat's has severe anxiety and really struggles with the experience. The lack of care or interest is understandable, but you cannot treat people like they're inconveniencing you for existing in a medical environment (this is always the case, even outside of with animals, but it feels especially frustrating with animals for me personally). After dealing with her three separate times, we've decided to switch vets. It does not help that we had an experience where we called the hospital an hour after dropping off our cat (yes, the one with severe anxiety), only to learn he hadn't been treated yet.
They also once sent him home for attacking a vet and made us bring him back another time, this time on sedatives they supplied. At the time this seemed reasonable, but reflecting on it, and reading other reviews, I wonder if this scenario could have been avoided in a hospital that didn't seemingly leave animals alone for extended periods of time without treating them, and perhaps didn't have assistants that don't even bother to look at or talk to the animals. Our kitty is a talkative and social cat, and does worse when he is ignored in a stressful environment. If the reception wasn't so unwelcoming perhaps that could have been communicated, but I have no confidence it would have been listened to.
