I am writing to express my concern regarding a deeply distressing experience I had at your Richfield location involving a veterinary technician named Ashley.
I visited the clinic for a simple deworming procedure for my dog. During the appointment, Ashley unexpectedly placed my dog in a submission style chokehold without any clear reason or warning. I was already holding my dog calmly when she abruptly took him from my arms and shouted, “Hands off.” This sudden behavior frightened my dog,he tucked his tail between his legs and began trembling.
Despite my efforts to calmly reassure and comfort him by gently holding his collar and speaking to him, Ashley continued to raise her voice, repeatedly yelling, “Hands off.” My dog became increasingly anxious and distressed. Moments later, she refused to continue providing service and told me to leave.
I explained that I was simply trying to comfort my pet during a stressful moment, but she showed no understanding or empathy. I was later informed that she is the clinic manager, which made the situation even more concerning. To make matters worse, I was still charged the full amount for the visit, despite being refused service and my dog not receiving the care we came for.
No customer or pet should be treated this way. I strongly recommend that Ashley receive additional training in customer service, animal handling, and communication, particularly in showing empathy and professionalism toward clients and their pets. I also request that my payment for this incomplete service be reviewed and refunded.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response and to seeing steps taken to ensure that future clients do not have similar experiences.

I miss when this team was Normandale Vet Hospital! I’ve been bringing my cat Peel to them for years, and we miss Dr. Dave so much! BUT we love the new Dr. Moore (i think Is who we saw). I always feel so welcomed when I come in there. Linda and Cassandra at the front desk are AMAZING give those girls a raise! Every time i call and come in they’re so excited to see Peel. They truly take such good care of their patients and i cannot Recommend them enough!

Vets here can’t tell when a cat has been spayed, what a waste of money $250 to open her and figure out she doesn’t have a uterus.

My appt was at 12:55 and I arrived at 12:56 on 9/20/25. This was the Vetco in Richfield, MN on 66th street. I was told I was late and they did not give my dog her vaccination. I was sent away. No Kidding.
My previous Vetco experience was on 2/9/25 in Eden Prairie MN. I saw Dr. Kelly Lessard, license #24921. She was unable to find a vein to draw blood for the heartworm test. She sent me away. I then went to my regular vet and they had no difficulty drawing blood. No other vet has EVER had trouble drawing blood on this dog.
My Conclusion - yes you can save money at this place. But GOOD LUCK. They are generally incompetent. Not worth my time and energy.
I call this a really stupid experience and giant waste of my time. My suggestion is to find another clinic or pay a few $ more and go to a regular vet.
