I am usually not the type to say something however i feel the need to express my experience so that it might help someone else in there choice on bringing their pet to banfield in Richfield. My wife recently brought our cat in because we thought she had hurt her leg and was limping. when she brought our cat in the room she immediately did not like the situation. My cat is normally very good especially towards Men but can sense in people if they have a bad attitude toward her and lets them know she doesn't like them. the vet told my wife that by way she was walking she knew that she tore her achillies tendon however wanted to do x-rays to determine the extent. after they asked my wife to leave to do x-rays on her and the door closed my wife said the sounds that came out of our cat were sounds of complete terror and had never heard her make before or be so loud. after awhile the vet called and told her that she would need to come and pick her up as they could not preform the x-rays because our cat would not cooperate and they did not want to continue with her. The vet then suggested that they preform surgery, amputate her leg on the spot that day or if we couldn't afford it put her down. My wife told them she is not in the right mindset to make that choice right now as she was still freaked out from the situation and the sounds our cat made after that door closed. A couple days later we took her to another clinic for a second opinion. From the moment we walked in our cat was calm and content she let the vets check her out, touch her legs, pick her up, and take x-rays with no issues at all not a hiss or a single meow. the vet found that it was NOT her achillies tendon and was just a flare up from arthritis in her hip. the Vet said she would be just fine gave us some meds and 2 days later she was back to her old self. i would highly suggest not bringing your cat here for any issues because if we would have listened to them my cat would not have a leg right now or would have been put down over a wrong diagnosis and i don't know what they did to her or what they tried doing to her after that door closed to make her scream like that and not cooperate but whatever it was was not good, and enough to stress and scare the rest of the night. I'm sure banfield will comment back on this with some excuse or reasoning why this occurred to make it sound like it was something we did or my cat did not to loose clients, but i tell the truth and normally don't do this, but felt something had to be said over this before someone looses there pet for no reason or wastes there money at the very least. thank you

The mis represented the costs of the service . Said I was getting a deal , but really added a teeth cleaning service that was not needed . But said it was cheaper .

Addressed concern for our dog and turned out to be nothing which was even better. Duke enjoys the vet and vet techs here! We have never had a problem and if we have had concerns they were always addressed. Thank you!

This location is so great with my 100 pound mix breed who is not very friendly. They treat her so well. And they don’t make me feel bad for having a slightly reactive dog.

Absolutely content with Gwen’s service. She knew that it was Buck’s first bath and that I did not need her to finish if he couldn’t handle it, but she did and she was faster than expected. I appreciate the conversation before and after the appointment.
