  Their online registration system and customer service are garbage. I made a first time appointment for my sick cat online and it did not ask for a deposit. I received a call from a staff member asking for payment, which I was more than happy to do, but I was driving. Now, I admit I have perimenopausal brain fog, so I asked the staff person to call me back if they don't hear from me by noon the next day so I can do whatever they need and she happily agreed. I never got a call to remind my foggy brain and when I arrived to the appointment, she told me she just canceled the appointment instead of calling. No apology or attempt to ask the vet. So I suck for forgetting, but their registration is a joke. I was looking for a new vet for my dog and 3 cats (my current vet is great but CRAZY busy) but this will not be it.

  I was looking for a new veterinary clinic for our new family member, and after some research chose New Hope Animal Hospital. Seemed to have good reviews and they offered a special $25 initial examination, so I scheduled an appointment and registered online. I spent a fair amount of time researching and considering because this is an important decision and commitment over the course of 10 or more years. They called me the next morning and told me I needed to pay $100 up front, weeks before the appointment, to cover the initial examination. I told the woman I had never heard of such a policy and I have been a dog owner, having had many veterinarians for some 40 years. The woman acknowledged that it's an unusual practice but that's simply what they do, and then asked me if I wanted to cancel the appointment. She couldn't really explain to me why they wanted to collect $100 from me up front, particularly considering the initial examination is supposed to be $25, or why they were trying to collect it weeks before the appointment when we didn't even know what services would be used. She told me the average initial visit was about $100 and I guess they wanted to make sure they got their money? I'm very leery of all of the positive reviews here, I can't believe other people haven't also had an issue with this pay ahead policy without ever having even been to the clinic. I understand that other things could be performed and the initial visit could easily end up costing more, but why would someone pay some random dollar amount weeks before the appointment just in case?? It does seem there's new management at the clinic in the last year and I see a higher number of negative reviews as I look closer now. I need to be able to trust my provider in every area, and this just doesn't feel right. I'll be looking for a different clinic, there are many choices and I have no doubt better ones.

  They take excellent care of my cats, and are willing to fit them into their schedule even when they are full when they have urgent care issues that come up! Very grateful to the staff and the vets at New Hope Animal Hospital!
