But for this store, the level of professionalism is in the gutter. I have a very unique breed of dog with a unique coat. I called, had a 15 minute conversation before booking a grooming session so we could get paired with a groomer who could handle the specifics of my dogs coat, scissor cutting and certain details that I like. Dropped the dog off, everything was good, the lady we dropped the dog off with was lovely, said she was very well brushed and maintained, just some armpit mats, which is normal and this is normally shaved out because I have the dogs belly tunneled. We had a 10 minute conversation about the specifics of the groom, absolutely no shaving other than tunneled belly, fanny and arm pits, everything else scissor cut, the lady typed all the specific details into their computer system and I sent them photos. I received a call an hour into the haircut that they had already shaved her in some areas, which is all wrong, my dog is a scissor cut only, and asked how I wanted to proceed. They groomer on the phone told me: "We have already shaved her ears and chest, it will be too much work to brush and scissor cut, so we shaved her and if we don't continue she will look really patchy if we don't shave her everywhere." The bar is in the gutter for the groomers here. Unless you want a redneck summer cut for your dog, please go elsewhere. And we are still praying they didn't damage my dog's lush double coat.
