As a bearded dragon owner I was absolutely appalled to see that their beardies were roaming ON SAND. The number one thing to NEVER put in your tanks for reptiles is sand. It causes impactation in reptiles as they will eat it and does not offer the proper support for their joints. The people in charge of the reptiles and aquatics should be ashamed as they have reptiles themselves (according to their meet the team board) and should know better than this!! To whoever is thinking about getting reptiles from Petco please think again because this is the level of care and respect they are getting. I hope a child does not get one of these beardies because they will be absolutely heartbroken when they wake up to a dead dragon because they ate the sand in their tanks. Do better or not at all. Drove over an hour to get Saltwater fish and ended up getting fish from another store another hour away instead. Absolutely horrendous. Only good part of the store was our cashier, Mitchell, who was an absolute gem and took the time to greet us and help us with our return.
