Drove over an hour after making an appointment. Arrived to a sign that said closed unexpectedly. Don't bother coming here. Seems like they dont have enough people/anyone that actually knows what they are doing.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Apple Valley Banfield saved my dog’s life! We brought in our middle-aged rescue mix for a routine nail trim and anal gland expression. During the procedure, the vet tech noticed something unusual and immediately brought it to the attention of the veterinarian. They recommended a biopsy, and Banfield went above and beyond to help us move up our renewal so the biopsy could be done at the same time as his dental cleaning while under anesthesia. That decision made all the difference. The biopsy revealed an aggressive form of colon cancer — but because it was caught so early, our dog was able to have surgery and complete chemo treatments through a specialist vet. Banfield has continued to be an incredible partner, coordinating closely with the oncology team and providing regular checkups to support his recovery. He just finished his last round of chemo, and we’re now moving into the monitoring stage. I will always be grateful to the Apple Valley Banfield team for their attentiveness, quick action, and genuine care. Without them, we would never have caught this in time.

Unfortunately, I can not recommend Banfield. It may appear their plan will offer cost savings but I assure you it does not in the long run. In my experience, when my dog had something wrong the vet staff had no recommendations except take them to a specialist. It was frustrating and costly. Do yourself a favor, find a vet that has in house diagnostics and is willing to give you actual advice like a veterinary doctor is trained to do.

Today was my first—and last—time using Banfield, and I never even got the chance to be seen. I scheduled an appointment online at 8:30 this morning for 2:30 with Dr. Yndestad. I received a text confirmation and arrived early at 2:00 to complete any necessary paperwork as a first-time client. Upon checking in, the tech informed me that my appointment wasn’t on the calendar. When I mentioned I had booked online, she casually responded, “Oh yeah, this happens.” When I expressed my frustration, she deflected, saying they were understaffed and that two people had called out, so her day wasn’t going well either. When I asked about alternatives, she dismissively told me, “Yeah, it does that, there's nothing we can do. You should take him to the emergency vet... or I guess he could wait here to see if he could be seen.” There’s a reason we took him to a regular vet and not an emergency vet—we didn’t believe the situation was urgent enough for emergency care but didn’t want to wait until later in the week for our usual vet. We were even considering switching to Banfield for all three of our animals, as it’s significantly closer than our current vet. However, after this experience, we will gladly continue to drive the extra 30 minutes just to avoid ever trusting Banfield with our pets. And it wasn’t just us. By happenstance, another woman behind me believed her appointment was at 2:00 but was told it was actually at 2:30. She seemed confused and unaware of the time change—another scheduling confusion? Wow. This experience was completely unacceptable. If the tech had shown any sympathy or offered an apology beyond dismissive comments, it might have been different. Instead, she made the situation entirely about their inconvenience, not ours—the paying customers with sick pets. It’s outrageous that your online scheduler continues to cause issues, and your solution appears to be complaining to customers rather than addressing the root problem. If Banfield is so understaffed, hire more people. If you can’t hire more people, maybe you’re not offering competitive wages. Your operational failures should never become the burden of your customers. I am beyond disappointed, and I will never be using your company again. EDITED: After the typical owner non-response response, I went back through all the reviews across Google and Yelp. Apparently the online scheduler has been an issue for over a year and not yet been addressed. What a joke.
