It may be different for dogs, but this can not be a place that anyone takes a cat. The older male vet has clearly never owned a cat before, and does not understand how to handle them. Their prices are more expensive then the Vets in ANN ARBOR (how does that make sense), and they refuse to recognize the pet owner's right to autonomy over their animal. Please consider any other vets in your area (particularly cat owners)

I made an appointment here and, despite having received a confirmation email, the place was closed when I arrived. I arrived 15 minutes before the appointment, and stayed until 15 minutes after it was scheduled to start. It was during their operating hours, but no one was in the building. I called and left a message, and no one ever got back to me. My cat had an accident in the car on the way to the appointment and was in distress while we waited for the vet (who never came).

I wish I could give this place more than a 2 star review. While they do provide good service, and I was happy taking my animal to them, getting them to respond to basic inquiries is like pulling your teeth out. I’ve called and filled out the form multiple times to try and get 1 (one) singular form completed by them and to have my pets medical documents (which I think should be readily available to the owners.) and have yet to receive anything despite a month of attempted contact, and I’ll have to spend more money to go to a different clinic to get forms that would have taken them five minutes. I’m editing the review to give one star because I’ve made an unfortunate realization about this hospital. They are fully aware that the paperwork is an ESA form as I’ve mentioned it when the call has been picked up, and I’ve realizing they’re attempting to discourage me from going through with it by being difficult about the paperwork. My accommodations rely on getting this paperwork done and I have documented diagnosis’s, so this is really frustrating. Do better.

I first started taking my pets to MI Ave animal Hospital back in the early 2000’s. Recently returned to the area and am back to taking my pup there. My rescued frenchie has seen both Dr. Mabel and Dr. Poindexter; both were phenomenal with her. Recently my pup started passing stones in her urine which is something I’ve never dealt with and is pretty terrifying tbh. Dr Poindexter was able to complete the needed imaging without putting her on her back and risking strain or injury from her previous paralysis. Exam, imaging (1 view), and meds were around $200 which feels very reasonable. Lab fees for stone analysis were $350 which also seems fair, but nothing I’ve dealt with before so don’t have a comparison point. All in all, very happy.

***** DO NOT COME HERE WITHOUT READING REVIEWS FIRST ***** I’m extremely disappointed with how this clinic handled what should have been a very routine issue. The staff repeatedly delayed care, contradicted basic veterinary medicine, and attempted to upsell unnecessary products instead of providing straightforward treatment. I would not recommend wasting your time or effort being seen here. If you need timely, practical care, you will likely have to go elsewhere to actually get help.
