  I was in to get my cat who is a picky eater her broth food and they were out so I was checking different brands in the aisles and bought a couple different brands (I had a hand cart and was on a work meeting call) then headed to check out. As I was approaching The cash register that didn’t have a line I was approached by Dianne the store manager and asked if I needed any help because I was walking aimlessly through the aisles. When I explained they did not have the food I went for I was looking for another similar kind she said I was just wandering. I checked out and the cashier asked her a question she then looked rolled her eyes and walked away. Did not ever say let me check our stock, never helped just was telling me how I was wondering. That will be my last visit to Westland Pet Co including my family also because making the world a more rude/hateful place is not an establishment we want to be in. I do spend money and I do not steal which is how I feel I was treated. I give 2 stars for my cashier who was amazing unfortunately I was so baffled and confused I can’t give her 5 stars for being amazing.

  Excellent experience with obedience training! Spike was an excellent teacher. We recently brought home a puppy and this Petco store has been great since day one. The staff is very helpful, happy to see/help socialize our dog, and the toy and food selection is second to none. When we enrolled in obedience training, we were placed under the care of Spike and he has been absolutely fantastic. Very, very knowledgeable in training and very easy to approach and ask questions. Will certainly bring future business here.

  I brought my mom’s dog in for a grooming appointment and was shocked at how unprofessional the staff handled her. The dog growled once out of nervousness , nothing aggressive, just normal fear behavior ,and they immediately refused service without even trying to calm her or assess her properly. Any experienced groomer should know how to work with anxious pets, or at the very least communicate options and safety steps. Instead, we were just turned away with no guidance or solutions. They didn’t offer alternatives, didn’t try to ease her in, and didn’t show any patience or compassion. My mom’s dog is not aggressive; she was simply scared in a new environment. We expected a grooming staff to have the skill and understanding to handle that. Unfortunately, this place made us feel unwelcome and dismissed. If your pet is even slightly nervous, I would not recommend coming here. There are plenty of groomers who know how to handle anxious dogs with care , this was definitely not one of them.

  Today I adopted a female Halloween Crested Gecko from Petco in Westland!! Sarah was amazing (as well as the male associate who's name I didn't get but was told he was the animal manager)! I stopped there because I was interested in a chameleon, but after hearing all the information Sarah provided about the cute little gecko and even getting to interact with it I couldn't leave without her! I took a while to decide what I was doing and needed her help several times. She was very busy, but would stop each time to come help me. She definitely went far above & beyond the normal scale of customer service for me and I am extremely thankful. She made made my experience extremely special and satisfying! Thank you Sarah for your hard work and knowledge about my newest best friend!
