Positive approach to dog- (and people) training
Mike and Jule (and Gwen) use a positive behavioral approach to teach handlers how to get consistent, safe (and fun) behaviors from their dogs, whether they're big and, ahem, exhuberant like our Cal, or more timid. Like all good coaches, they observe and point out how you can improve your techniques to be more consistent and to send clear messages to your dog. They always encourage rewarding with treats or to "love on your dog." It's a totally positive approach - and they make sure you're using your flat collar, prong collar, connectors, leashes, etc., properly and consistently. We are in obedience Level 3 - and it's such a joy to see ALL of the dogs improve week after week.

Horrible place, all punishment based, no training just jerk and yank.

Ok so, I wouldn't personally bring my large dog here due to the very small amout of space the dogs are kept in, but smaller dogs would be fine . The strong smell of bleach was unpleasant, but the staff seemed competent.

Tri Canine is an exceptional place. My beloved dog has been going there for 5 years or more. He loves it. Instead of chasing squirrels on days he knows we are going to Tri Canine he sits by the car door impatiently waiting. When we get closer to Tri Canine he screams with excitement. I should tell you I was brought up and a
believed pets were meant to stay home and wait for their owners to return. I am embarrassed to say I made fun of people who paid to take their pets to daycare. How wrong I was!!!! Pets are members of our family. They give us love, comfort, companionship and much more. My dog is very important to me and I know I am not alone in feeling like this. He was 12 last month. He runs like he is a puppy. And he is not little. I know I will not have him forever but I treasure all the time I have with him and credit Tri Canine with keeping him happy, healthy and engaged in life.
