There are truly no words to express how grateful I am for everyone who cared for my boy, King. We had a very difficult and unsuccessful experience with our first vet, so I switched and took King to Blackman Animal Clinic. They fit him in the same morning, and within an hour of arriving they were already taking care of him. From the moment I walked in, I felt something different, a warmth and genuine compassion. Dr. Melissa Nelson came out to greet us and immediately listened to every concern with so much care. I cannot express how deeply grateful I am for her. She worked tirelessly to get to the bottom of what was wrong with my boy. Everything the previous vet failed to catch, she found. We ultimately received the news no dog parent ever wants to hear: terminal cancer. Dr. Nelson was so understanding and went beyond just professionalism. she truly saw me as a person. In the most painful moment of my life, she was gentle, comforting, and reassuring. Making the decision to let my boy go was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. My mind was full of fear and second-guessing, but Dr. Nelson helped me understand that I was making this choice out of pure love and compassion. She said exactly what I needed in the moment. They gave us all the time we needed without ever rushing us for our goodbyes. They even allowed me to stay and grieve after hours. Every single person at this clinic was warm, patient, and caring in a way I’ll never forget. I am eternally grateful for Dr. Melissa Nelson and the entire Blackman Animal Clinic team. If you are looking for a place that will see your pet as a priority not just another client, there is truly no better place to take your pets.

They do not try to do unnecessary diagnostic imaging or inflate the cost of the visit if it's not necessary. The office is very clean as well. 😊

The front staff is ALWAYS friendly, always willing to get us in when needed on a short notice and when they can. Sometimes it's understandable when they are completely booked. We love all the doctors, but Dr. Jason is our favorite. Couldn't have a better vet. Thank you for all you do.
