  Petco – Farmington Hills I recently brought my dog in for grooming at this location, and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. This Petco does not seem to be a good fit for big or heavy dogs. The grooming cleanup was not done well, and when I arrived for pickup, they added a note on my account saying my dog was “not a good fit.” In my opinion, the service itself was not a good fit. If you are charging around $100, the grooming should be completed properly, and staff should have the support they need to handle larger dogs. I hope management can provide additional help or training so customers with big dogs can have a better experience in the future.

  I was extremely hesitant to take my Two dogs to Petco in Farmington Hills MI for grooming. There was a lot of availability and I wasn’t sure how well they treated dogs or how good their groomers were. While the check-in area could be improved (it’s difficult to sign papers while holding a dog leash), the overall check in process went smooth. When our first dog was ready, we were surprised just how quick it was to bathe him, trim, his nails, and make him look fresh and new. When we first saw him, we could not believe how amazing he looked, and how fluffy and soft his one year-old puppy fur was. This was his first visit to a groomer, and they were able to work with his extremely high curiosity and energy level to make him look absolutely amazing. We later picked up our second dog, who also had a bath, nail clipping, and a haircut. I asked to make her hair very short and even, I typically do it myself. It was not looking to suffer through my allergies this weekend. When we saw her at pick up, she looked incredible. Her hair was so soft and perfectly smooth, I don’t even know how they got it to look so good. They did an absolutely unbelievable job in cleaning her and cutting her hair. I am so impressed with the quality of the groomers that we will certainly be back on a regular basis throughout the year. The concerns originally had were all put to rest once I experienced how well they took care of our two dogs and how great they looked afterwards.

  I brought my dog here for the first back in June for his first haircut. Im guessing the grooming manager(an older heavyset lady) came from the back extra aggressive while I was checking my dog in. It rubbed me in the wrong but I brushed it off because I assumed she was having a bad day already at 8am. Then brought him back a second time just to give them grace from the first time because people have there days but as I’m walking him out I see a red mark on his inner leg I don’t pay it any mind because he did just his hair cut and that just what it May look like right there. 2 days later I realize that it’s a scab now forming. So obviously my god skin was cut and it wasn’t told to me that he was. This is upsetting because my already hates going there. So now this is going to make it even more difficult getting him comfortable with going. Now he will associate the groomer with mean people and getting cut

  Never bring your dog here employees are lazy and want to sit around in the back and not groom dogs they will find any reason to turn a dog away to have more time to sit around on their phones for an extra hour, I’ve had my dog groomed at the Troy location with the same paperwork I brought here and had a great experience, I brought his whole medical history packet from the last 2 years with his rabies shot date clearly listed and how long it lasts (1 year) was not near expired at all the girl claims because his name wasn’t on every page of the packet they couldn’t take him as if I’m trying to run some kind of scam to get my dog groomed this place is laughable honestly it was very clear throughout the paperwork all the procedures were preformed on the same dog, it’s always something here they turned my female dog away a couple weeks ago because she wasn’t fixed at the time I knew I shouldn’t have gave them a second chance after that and you shouldn’t give them a chance period find a grooming business they are more professional. I want to give an update as well I took him to PetSmart today their groomers were very nice and professional and found no issue with his paperwork, will be bringing both my dogs there from now on.
