Our pup was on his second UTI. We got an antibiotic from our vet, and the symptoms seemed to clear up before all the medicine. Even got another urine test to confirm. But the antibiotic was upsetting his stomach, so we stopped the medicine. Then, over the holidays all his symptoms seemed to come back. Since our vet was closed, we just wanted to go to Pet Care Plus, to get a different antibiotic, that wouldn't upset his stomach, but treat the UTI again. When Hilary came in, she was very rude and condescending. Didn't think it was a UTI, and wanted to run a whole bunch of tests to see if it was some other "underlying condition". Basically, disputing what our beloved vet for over 20 years and that we trust with our pets lives, has been telling us. She also said small male dogs rarely get UTI's. Since this was the second one our pup has had in less than a year, and the previous small male dog we had for 13 years constantly had them, we knew that couldn't be true. Then she insinuated it must be our fault for our dogs getting so many UTI's! We agreed to a urine test, but when we refused additional blood work, Hilary seemed shocked that we would dare not follow her expert opinion and advice, and left with the guilt-ridden threat "if your dog dies over the holidays, don't blame me!". The urine test came back positive, which confirmed our theory. We did get another antibiotic, and all his symptoms did clear up again.
When I left to pay, I paid the bill, but informed the "cashier" that I was not happy with the service we received, and will never be back. Found out the "cashier" was the owner, Amanda. She seemed extremely concerned, empathetic, and very apologetic. Said she would listen to the audio and deal with Hilary immediately.
I asked the next day for a follow up, and quickly learned (after reading the previous reviews and follow ups), that Amanda once again defended her employees behavior, apologizing for Hilary's "perceived rudeness", but assured us everything she said was "sound medical advice". She also repeatedly said she was going to call Dr. Bobbie (our vet) to give her side of the story (so as to not hurt any future referrals). I don't think Bobbie (or any other vets) should be referring Pet Care Plus, because all they do, is try to take advantage of your urgent need and try to run a bunch of tests and run up a huge bill. If they have to counter and badmouth things your vet as done in the process, its just "business". That is how I feel, as long as she keeps defending Hilary, every time there is a complaint or a bad review.
PS... now if Amanda follows up with a comment, it will just reiterate everything I said, and every other comment she has made to every other bad review involving Hilary. Apologize for her rudeness, but assure everything we were told was "sound medical advice". I agree to disagree. Good luck to all.
