Drove out here today to buy 2 bearded dragons because they were on sale this weekend, one for a family member and one for myself. After waiting 20 minutes I showed the worker the first one I wanted. She started questioning me about if I knew I how to care for it and where I would keep it. She somehow thought it was weird that I knew exactly the one I wanted after staring at them for 20 minutes waiting for support. I've raised dragons my whole life, I know how to care for them. It's funny because they kept multiple beardies in what is probably a 1X1 cage, while I had a setup ready that was 4feet X 2feet. with a bar UVB T5 H0 Reptisun, with definitely adequate heat lamps for a juvenile ready to go. They had reptile carpet too which is horrible. BUT It's none of her business anyway. Then I told her that one was for a family member, she said I couldn't buy one for my family member, I was like ok if I can't buy one for my family member then I need to buy one for myself, which was my intention when walking in. She said that she would not sell it to me because I was going to give it to the family member. I told her "no, it's for me". But she said she couldn't sell it to me because she said that I was going to give it away. So I drove out there for nothing. I wasn't allowed to buy a dragon for myself or my family member. Also, am I now permanently banned from buying a pet at petco? How much time has to pass before this power tripping manager allows me to buy a pet? Why is she dictating who can and cannot buy pets?? It's none of her business what I do with my pets and how I raise them. I asked her if she could get a manager and she said she was the manager. Unbelievable. Her name is Emily. I live with the family member by the way, I would've been the one taking care of it. I filed a complaint with support and now I have to wait 24-72 hours for a resolution, and the sale will be over by then. I'll change my review depending on the resolution. I also feel like the resolution won't be enough, I picked the dragon I thought was the most healthiest after watching them for 20 minutes, because their conditions are so horrible, the other fancy beardie looked like it was gasping for air. So the healthy one will probably be gone before the resolution, and sadly the one gasping for air will probably be dead. If everything worked out the way it should have, then I probably would have bought both those beardies and tried to save the one that was clearly dying. I feel like I am being discriminated against. I am waiting for a response from petco. I wanted to become a member of Petco, but what is the point if I am not allowed to purchase pets??

I love how this location has the beautiful balloon mollies. I wanted to purchase some but I live an hour away and I still had more shopping to do. Hopefully I will make just one trip next time...

Went in to buy a reptile heat light bulb. Advertised online at Pet Co as $23.82, in-store it's $55.99. Took it up to the front and they overrode the in-store price and sold it as $23.82. Highly recommend comparing the prices online.
