Banfield is a terrible vet. They continue to charge you for their wellness plan even if your pet dies or you need to cancel for any reason. They do not care about your pet. Just money.

My Bernedoodle was diagnosed with large cell lymphoma. At the time, I had two plans: SPOT Pet Insurance and the Banfield “Wellness Plan.” Save your money—do not purchase the Banfield plan. The monthly payments would be far more useful if you simply set that money aside yourself and used it when needed. The Banfield plan provided almost no real value; I only used it for a couple of routine blood screening tests. SPOT Pet Insurance, on the other hand, covered 80% of the chemotherapy treatments, and the monthly premium was about the same cost as Banfield’s. After my dog passed away, SPOT allowed me to cancel immediately with no issue. Banfield, however, attempted to charge additional fees just to cancel. In my experience, Banfield’s value is zero, and their customer service is poor. You’re better off choosing another pet insurance provider—or simply paying out-of-pocket—than signing up for the Banfield Wellness Plan.

They seem to be randomly closed during their posted hours. Ever since Dr. Miller left, this place has been a joke.

We are so grateful for the incredible care our dog Rutabaga (“Rudy”) has received at Banfield Brighton. Recently, Rudy was struggling with chronic pain and needed a series of injections to feel better. Arlene went above and beyond to help us through this process. She probably spent close to an hour total helping me coordinate Rudy’s injection appointments, making sure everything was lined up so our dog could get the care she needed. Arlene has also been a constant source of empathy and knowledge for our family, guiding us as we navigate Rudy’s care. There are other Banfield locations that are closer to us, but we choose Brighton because of the dedicated veterinarians and because of staff members like Arlene who truly go above and beyond to help Rudy live her best life. Update: I also want to acknowledge Koryn at this location as well. She has been here at every visit and looked after Rudy in the back. Koryn is very patient with me and answers all of my questions about Rudy’s care. She is very passionate about the wellbeing of animals and this is evident by her professionalism. We have a Banfield nearby our home but drive the extra twenty minutes (each way) because of great caretakers like Koryn.
