- ARAlicia RoyleDec 29, 20252.0Usually don't have a problem at this location, but went today to purchase a pet hamster for my 13 year old daughter (would be her second hamster, 1st one died of old age) and got lectured on how our wire cage set up was the worst for a hamster. We were told that the hamster will get their limbs caught in the wires and chew them off (my 10 year old loved hearing that) and I should really DIY a 40 gallon plastic tote for a hamster ?? what absolute nonsense is this? Even though it wasn't implicitly stated by the associate, it was pretty clear they were not interested in completing the sale for us. Was so turned off from the interaction that I opted to go elsewhere for cat litter.

When the employee took them out of the enclosure, they pulled them out by the tail and were clearly unaware of how painful it was for the rats. We immediately noticed that they were taken care of horribly. They were covered in their own waste. They were horribly traumatized and are terrified of humans. It was clear that the employees were not properly trained on caring for the animals.

They have beautiful salt water fish as well as birds etc. Always have what I'm looking for plus some that I didn't know I was. Staff is always friendly. Plus every child loves pet stores and every dog I've had loves going to pick out their own toys. So make the trip get out the house maybe you will go home with a new gold fish named bubba or George. :)

I have called them and was told by customer service that they stopped that program. I buy three large bags a month for my dogs and have been doing this for over a year with no coupons ever given to me. I was recently in the store and shared what I was told by customer service and the associate told me that they just used a coupon the day before for a free bag of food. Very I happy about this. I spend upwards of 500 whey month at this store for my animals. Time to shop somewhere else at this point.
