This is my go to place for all my dogs needs. The Topsham store is usually better stocked and has a good assortment of toys and treats for my little guy. I buy everything from his food to dental care and vitamins and clothes for him there.

When is Petco going to stop selling animals? It is heartbreaking to see how much these animals are suffering. During my recent visit, I saw a young conure about four months old kept alone in a small cage with mangled feathers. These birds are incredibly intelligent and social creatures that need companionship, enrichment, and space to thrive. Watching such a vibrant species confined in this condition was deeply upsetting. Petco needs to take responsibility and end the sale of live animals. There are countless rescue organizations and adoption programs that can help rehome birds and small pets. Continuing to sell them for profit only leads to neglect and suffering. Until Petco changes this policy, I will not support this company. Animals deserve better than this.

Unprofessional and untrained in handling nervous dogs This grooming team clearly doesn’t know how to handle dogs that move or get nervous. My dog has never bitten anyone, yet they acted terrified of my dog and refused to do the job properly. The dog has been to multiple groomers before, real professionals who knew how to calm and manage it, but Petco’s staff seemed completely inexperienced and afraid. If you can’t handle dogs, you shouldn’t be in the grooming business. I’m highly disappointed. Management seriously needs to retrain this staff before more dogs (and owners) have to deal with this level of incompetence.
