- KKKMBSep 30, 20252.0I took my Shorkie in for a bath and cut at 1:45 pm on a Saturday I specifically asked to have the fur on her legs be slightly longer than her body and she came out with all of her fur cut short and was told that she was matted so this was why she had to be cut that way. I know that my dog was not matted to where all of her fur needed to be cut that low! I brush her everyday and knows that if she had any mat it did not warrant the cut that she received! Anyway, normally its a two to two and half hour visit and after about three hours and I had not heard from anyone about her I went to the salon and she was JUST getting her hair cut. Now at that point if she was matted it would have been a good idea to inform me of what was there and allowed me to make the decision to cut her short but nothing was said about that then. So I asked how much longer before she would be ready and was told at least another 30-45 minutes because she had not been bathed yet! I ask a manager why is this visit taking so long and he said that there were only two groomers and they had quite a few dogs that just the two of them had to care for 😒 okay that explains the wait but that should have been announced in the beginning as well to allow one to say if they were willing to wait those extra few hours or reschedule. Needless to say, I did not get the text that my dog was ready until after 6pm. I have never had an issue with Petco grooming but this visit has made me decide to look elsewhere for grooming for my fur baby
