Every visit felt like a cash cow opportunity rather than an effort to properly diagnose or treat my pets. Sadly, my experience has been poor not just at this location but across Banfield hospitals in the area. My beloved dog recently passed away, and I truly believe Banfield’s lack of thoroughness contributed to her suffering. In her final year, she had scabies that Banfield failed to diagnose—something that only an ER vet eventually caught. In her last months, she developed cancer. Despite going to Banfield immediately, they offered no clear guidance and failed to steer us toward the right specialists. By the time we finally found one, it was too late—her condition had worsened due to issues that could have been caught earlier. Even basic care was lacking. A heart murmur—something that can be easily detected with a stethoscope—was only diagnosed in her final days. My other dog has also suffered from neglectful care. I flagged gum health concerns when he was just a puppy, but was told “he just has bad breath because he’s a dog.” Today, he has lost most of his teeth because that issue wasn’t taken seriously. Dr. Carrera, when available, has been very thorough and helpful, but access to her is almost impossible. I will say the staff here are wonderful and clearly cared for my pets. My frustration lies not with them, but with Banfield as an entity. They failed to provide the proper medical care my pets deserved, and I regret trusting them with my dogs’ health.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.

• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
