  Nice store - well organized, however disappointed that the selection in the dog treat section was very low!

  Imagine being an elementary school aged kid, attending your county fair and winning a fair game, your prize a pair of goldfish. You and your family do the RESPONSIBLE thing and immediately head to your local pet store to gain the proper knowledge and supplies to properly care for your new family additions. You walk in to gain said knowledge and supplies and the FIRST word out of the staffs mouth after a large huff/puff and eye roll (clearly not in the most customer service oriented headspace) “I recommend you just surrender the fish to us if you don’t have a tank established or aren’t going to buy at minimum a 40gal tank and set it up properly, you’ll just have 2 dead fish. We can take care of them properly here.” No compassion, cold, blunt, just a sad example of professional assistance. The young boy and his dad made the decision to surrender the fish and he exited the store crying, clearly heartbroken. A day where he was very high DEMOLISHED to a low in minutes. Never offered any knowledge or assistance other than buy a 40 gal tank or give them to us. My wife was in the store with our similar aged daughter for the same reason. Met with the same unhelpful attitude and decision to make. Only she took it upon herself and the power of GOOGLE while standing in the fish section to learn the necessary supplies and procedures to set my daughter up for a successful fish residence. Thanks to her, we bought the necessary supplies, set up and Ariel the fair fish is thriving in her LESS than “40gal required” tank. I understand being the voice/advocate for those who can’t speak for themselves (pets,fish,etc) however these two families mentioned were doing the responsible thing, directly reporting to a pet store to care for their new family member in a responsible manner and were met with poor attitude, no help and figure it out yourself or surrender the pet to us (to go in a small tank with 100 other goldfish, that doesn’t make sense either). Think of the people who won the fish and didn’t try to do the right thing by the fish, where did those fish end up? Yet we were treated like the criminals. I’m happy to report thanks to my wife and not the petco employee, Ariel is alive and well 2 weeks since coming home. My heart still breaks for that little boy. Shame on that associate for his actions and lack of overall humanity. I wish I knew his name.

  Went in to return hay that was on auto ship and not needed. Associate was nice and polite no issues.

  I was basically told I was inhumane for purchasing a small fish tank (rather than a 20 gallon) for the fish that my son won at the fair. The associate was less than helpful and pointed at a sign with the store recommendations for “fair” fish while he went back to changing the water in the Beta containers…I find it ironic that he didn’t have a problem sticking them back into 2 cups of water. I don’t shop there often and will definitely not return.
