I appreciate your concern for my dog and although I may not change your perception of what you saw, I can share my take on the Petco Groomers and how much my dog enjoys time with them. For over 2 years, these Groomers have taken great care of my dog, successfully doing everything from bathing, brushing teeth and yes, trimming nails. My dog has always been reluctant about nail trimming so I am especially grateful for their services here. For all of our visits, my dog has loved being with these Groomers and continues to look forward to every trip back to Petco because of them. I do hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday season and you have a happy new year.
- KFk fDec 26, 20251.0On December 26, I witnessed a beautiful young dog, black and white, possibly lab-shepherd mix, being utterly traumatized by a nail clipping at this location. I was on the checkout line; it wasn't my dog, or I'd have had him out of there and safe home immediately. He was essentially suspended by a neck restraint, choked, whole body writhing in an effort to escape the groomer. The groomer was as stone-faced as an executioner. She didn't speak to the dog, reward the dog, stroke or attempt to soothe it in any way. Many dogs don't like to have their nails cut, but compassion is key. This dog will remember for a lifetime what a terrible experience it was; will never willingly let it be done in future. It was a horrifying spectacle. Why this woman is a dog groomer is a complete mystery. No one should trust these people with their pets.
