- LLlatoya lewisMar 12, 20261.0This was my second time visiting this location with my dog, Bella. Unfortunately, this visit was not the experience I expected. Bella was taken to the back while I was left in the waiting room. When the assistant and the doctor came back, they mentioned that Bella had received her rabies shot in her right hip area and told me to be careful with that side. They also checked her pressure sore, which currently has leakage and pus, and mentioned that she has blackheads/pimples as well. The doctor mentioned that I could pop the blackheads at home if needed. However, I would have felt much more comfortable doing that if I had been present to actually see how they addressed them during the visit. Being able to watch or have it explained in real time would have helped me feel more confident about caring for Bella at home. My main concern is that I would have preferred to be present when Bella received her vaccine and while the doctor examined her pressure sore. As a pet owner, I want to feel included in my dog’s care and understand exactly what is being done. Being separated from her during the exam made the experience feel less transparent and left me uncomfortable. I really value veterinarians who communicate well and interact with pet owners during the visit. It builds trust and helps owners feel more confident about caring for their pets afterward. I hope the clinic considers involving pet owners more during exams and treatments when possible. It would make a big difference in the overall experience for both the owner and the pet.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.

• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
• Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.
