Don’t go to Banfield if you want services for a cat. In my experiences they are not experienced or good with them. Also this location does not do in room appointments even though you can book them online. I have wasted money on the Banfiled care plan which is worthless when the only way anyone will see my cat is if she is passed out on gabapentin. I was told to give the cat gabapentin before because she scratched and bites . So I did just to be told she can’t be looked at because even tho she was high as a kite and uncoordinated she was still hissing and they suggest she may have to be asleep for and exam. I apologize that my cat is defensive when u take her away from someone she knows to be man handled in a closet of a room in the back where dogs are barking and smells of fear and death are present. Maybe there’s a better process than that I don’t know but I do know I’m not wasting anymore money time and energy with this business.

I can’t say enough good things about Dana at the Banfield in Greenbelt! After having a terrible experience with another location, Dana completely turned my day around. She went above and beyond to help me get my cat the medicine she needed, personally spoke with the doctor, and even made sure my cat was scheduled to be seen as soon as possible.
She was so kind, patient, and compassionate not just over the phone, but in person too. You could tell she truly cares about the pets and the people who love them. Her professionalism and empathy made such a stressful situation feel manageable.
Thank you, Dana, for your genuine care and amazing service! Greenbelt Banfield is lucky to have you! 🐾💛

I booked an appointment for my fur baby Maxx to have his ear looked at because he has been in great discomfort with little relief. I saw a ad for services online and booked right away. I chose the Greenbelt location since it was closest to my home and went in early to the appointment to fill out first time paperwork. When I arrived not only did they not have any record of my appointment but they also do not do in-room visits as the website promotes. Desperate to get relief for my ailing pup I agreed to allow them to see him last minute. Unknown to me the kennel that gave him his last rabies shots had only gave him a 1 year given to him on August 4, 2024. I was under the impression it was a 3 year vaccine but the doctor assured me it was fine and that they would simply give him an updated shot in addition to the ear cleaning service and check up that I brought him in for. I also present paper work of his recent and past rabies vaccines. That had been up to date until that point. Before the visit we all had established that 1) He was not currently vaccinated, 2) this was his first vet visit at this facility, 3) He was visibly irritated because of his ear ailment and also I was told I could not go in the back with him. The nurse immediately brought him back saying that she was bit after she tried to pick him up and further told me he would not be able to be seen for a quarantine period of 10 days. Not only did they report my dog as a violent animal but he was not able to be treated properly ! I am beyond unnerved that there was so much confusion based on the misinformation of your website and then for him to have to suffer for another 10 days is completely unacceptable. Had I known this was a drop off only location I would not have scheduled in the first place and would have taken extra precautions to make sure he was calm enough to be seen. This incident was not ok because not only was the staff injured but also my Fur baby who didn’t recieve the treatment he desperately needed.! This needs to be addressed immediately.
