We took our dog here for a consultation with a surgeon and were told that he needed a leg amputation. The estimate they provided us ranged from $7000 to $9600. if we wanted additional diagnostics, it went up to over $12,000. We consulted other veterinarians for second and third opinions and received estimates of $2400 for the same surgery. Please do some research when looking for veterinary services. This practice like many others, is a PetVet facility owned by a private equity firm, KKR, and unfortunately has private equity firm pricing. While I have no doubt that the employees here care for animals, there are small businesses that offer similar services for significantly less.

Our dog had Bloat (GVD ) that late at night on 12/23/25. I called VRS and luckily the receptionist was very knowledgeable and helpful - after I described the symptoms - she told me it was an emergency and to bring him right over. When we got there they rushed him to the back - did an initial procedure to release the gas and then called in an emergency surgeon. He probably would have died if they all hadn’t worked so hard and so fast and been so good. The place is filled with all state of the art equipment- and a lot of staff - calm and clean waiting room - clean and large cages and areas- Honestly more impressive than many human E.R.’s . Thanks to them Romeo is home now and doing well The only complaint I have is the cost is staggering. I’ll be working overtime for a long time.

If I could give them less I would. They are absolute scammers, just want your money. Cannot do anything either. The care they gave my dog for an open head wound was ridiculous compared to the care we got at grove veterinary just 10 minutes away. We paid 800 dollars JUST to even give her pain killers or sedatives. Then tried to tell us we needed at 5000 dolkar surgery with anesthesia. The vet office the next day did the suturing that this place said she needed for 900 dollars. While I understand it was Christmas and there were 3 dogs behind her, the fact that the price went to 5000 dollars is ridiculous when the different vdt office was able to do it with just sedatives. They should’ve been transparent and said doing it with us will be super expensive, we will give her sedatives pain killers and clean it and go to a different vet tomorrow. Instead we waited for 5 hours and most of that time was them calculating a price!! Very traumatic and waste of 800 dollars.

My dog was recently diagnosed with highly malignant cancer, and I called the oncology department here to set up an appointment. Although I didn't end up taking my dog there, their receptionist (I think her name of Cindy or Cynthia) was outstanding and really showed that she cared about my pet's wellbeing. They had no appointments available for about a month, but she went in and spoke with the doctor and was able to squeeze in an emergency appointment just for me. She was so excited when I said I was going to take him in; I could tell she really takes pride in her work. If all of their employees are like that young woman, this is definitely a great place to take your pet in need.

We brought my 12 year old 3lb Teacup Poodle to VRA on a busy Saturday night when she was shaking badly, in pain and unable to walk properly. She does have kidney disease and we were thinking it was the end for her. Upon arrival they told us there was a 4 hour wait. OMG we were about to panic. Luckily they were able to see her quickly. We were actually just at our regular vet earlier that day with little answers to what was suffering from. THE NICEST ER VET EVER (Natasha Welsh) diagnosed little Aspen with Osteopenia (reduced bone density) and explained quite well what she was suffering from. We were so happy that her condition was not life threatening and could be managed with medication. The medication has made a huge difference in our dogs quality of life and we are so thankful with Natasha and the staff at VRA.
