Taken my dog here for 6+ years; no complaints. Doctors are great and the front desk staff is always sweet towards the animals.

Banfield as a whole is a mess. The employees are over worked and under appreciated. They are all constantly in edge and you can tell they are not focused. It’s all about money. I moved from the Urbana Pike Banfield to this location because I was unfortunately stuck in contracts for my dogs. The other banfield was a mess…they were always dirty…my dog picked up a literal needle in his mouth…there was blood spots every time I went…. so I was hoping this one would be better. While I did enjoy the front desk employees at this location…and they were clean…there were some vet techs and some vets that I didn’t trust. One particular vet tech I had watching over my dogs many times lacked empathy to the extreme. The final straw was when I took my 12 year old senior dog who has arthritis and was there for a pancreatitis follow up….this particular vet tech apparently was in a rush and wrapped her leash around his head and pulled my poor old dog so hard she SLAMMED his head into a large bag of food on the bottom shelf of petsmart. I said “can you please be careful! He isn’t feeling well and has arthritis!” She IGNORED ME and kept pulling him down the hall and when she opened up the heavy door to the back, she wasn’t even looking at him and the door fell on him. I was livid and disturbed. I asked to speak to the manager and she said she would watch over Gator so that vet tech wouldn’t touch him. After many sleepless night and crying spells thinking about what I witnessed and wondering what she was doing behind closed doors to animals when she was willing to do all that in-front of me…unfortunately I was stuck in a contract so I emailed the office asking if I continue to bring my dogs there could they promise this particular vet tech wouldn’t touch my animals again. I got NO RESPONSE! My email was ignored and my guess is nothing was addressed. This is animal abuse and it was allowed and I was ignored!! Needless to say I am never going to a Banfield again and found the most amazing vet at Brunswick Animal Crossing. Banfield is a corporate mess and this place is not safe for any animal.

Well Banfield has been good up until the month of October......had to reschedule twice for 3 cats an a dog. Go in today (10/26) finally for their appointments that were confirmed via email yesterday (10/25) to only find the lights out an no one working in the vet office.....why.....cause they were closed yet again an no one called to reschedule for a 3rd time. So the office will be getting a call from me an my husband is calling corporate tomorrow as well. This is unacceptable an we pay damn near 250$ a month for 5 animals an have had to reschedule twice an not be told the 3rd time they wouldnt be open.....AGAIN! Its frustrating an total BS to have to get my animals ready, stressed out for a pointless car ride in there for absolutely NOTHING!

Not the worst experience I’ve had with Banfield since the one in Hagerstown is the reason my cat passed in May. But absolutely would never recommend this or any other Banfield to anyone. My very healthy 11 yr old cat went in for a dental cleaning Wednesday. And is now not eating and limping on the leg they placed the catheter in. Took her in for this on Monday as a drop off. The doctor gave her ZERO pain relief, after I clearly stated multiple times she was not eating and I thought it was due to her being in pain. The doctor recommended the most expensive option first, as if that were the only one. X-rays and a specialist. I was a vet assistant years ago and that’s not how that works. You would treat symptoms recheck then go further. The doctor said okay anti inflammatorys and antibiotics. No treatment plan provided to me, no estimate. I come to pick her up, she prescribed prednisone and clavimox. The prednisone I understand for inflammation; it does nothing for acute pain. Why the antibiotic? She had no fever, no sign of infection so why would she just prescribe an antibiotic for no reason. I wanted an in room appointment for her recheck, this doctor (dr.tynan) doesn’t do in room appointments. ? Red flag. My cat again did not eat Monday night, so I couldn’t give her the meds I paid for. I call on Tuesday to ask why no pain management was given, I’m told by a receptions the notes in her chart say I would need to go to a specialist for pain management. ?? What? Do you know how long it could take me to get into a specialist? And you want her to be in pain until then. And why does she need to go to a specialist all of the sudden…what did yall do to my cat during her dental? I feel like she’s trying to cover it up with antibiotics. The doctor was condescending and rude; trying to gas light me about why antibiotics would be needed. Antibiotics are not meant to be given just to give them, that causes more issues!! Multiple times she said “maybe Banfield isn’t the vet for you” no you’re not a good vet period. I’ve worked with actual good vets, at Banfield and at the ER I was at for 2 years. I know a bad vet who is only worried about her hospital revenue numbers and bonus when I talk to one. I’ve been going to Banfield longer than she’s probably even been a vet, paying for wellness plans on all my animals, doing dental cleanings every year and the one year this doctor and hospital touches her; she now won’t eat and is limping. I’m going to pursue this at every level possible; she shouldn’t be allowed to do this to someone else’s pet. Her whatever tech was in surgery with her, need to be held accountable for what they did. Corporate, BBB, the veterinary licensing board. All of that. I will seek legal action if necessary. My cat is sweet and has never done anything to anyone. She’s not fractious at the vet, she doesn’t even hiss. She was healthy, happy and eating before they touched her. Now she’s lethargic, barely licking baby food and limping. Still in pain because the only thing that could’ve been done to maybe help her feel better was denied to her by someone covering their tracks. Also Banfield has NO CUSTOMER CARE NUMBER ONLY AN EMAIL. ? If yall think this is going to blow over and I’m going to let it go or let you sweep it under the rug you picked the wrong one. I will make it my personal business to tell any and everyone I come into contact with and across the internet not to use this hospital and especially to avoid Dr. Tynan if you don’t want your pet coming out worse than they went in. Update** I called to get the doctors license number because I’m absolutely reporting her to the board, I was told the practice manager Rachel would call me. Never did. Typical.
