This seems to be a decent place to take your dog for shots and other dog healthcare. It’s absolutely disgusting though that for the canine influenza shot, there’s an initial charge and then 4 to 6 weeks later you have to pay an additional $70 for another office visit to get the booster shot. That does not include the price for the shot itself, which is $67. There’s no way to justify this fee, except for it being an admission fee to get into the hospital for the booster. You get absolutely nothing for the additional $70 Because when the dog received the first shot an examination was done so it’s not like you get another comprehensive examination or anything for the additional $70. I’ve paid far less money to get into clubs in Vegas! This is an example of how responsible dog owners get exploited, and I just personally think this practice is terrible!

I've been a client for over 10 years and have had a wellness plan for both of my cats that entire time. I brought one cat in for a $514 ECG because he has a heart murmur and we needed to check if it was safe to anesthetize him for dental care. I later received a call that he was being difficult and they had to anesthetize him to perform the ECG, which was confusing, since the whole point of the test was to see if anesthesia was safe. While he was under, they asked over the phone if they could also check his blood pressure. I correctly assumed this meant an extra charge, and they confirmed it was $60. I asked if they could waive it and was told we could discuss it with the manager when I came in. When I arrived, the total was $661. I pointed out the math was wrong; they then informed me the new charge was for the anesthesia, which I was never called about for approval – they just did it. Well, I asked again if they could at least waive the $60 blood pressure cost. The manager (Trish?) came out and began to explain that a different company does the ECG, which is why they needed to charge for the blood pressure. I noted that checking blood pressure seems straightforward, but she began explaining how it takes multiple, specially trained people to hook the cat up to a special machine. When I said $60 still seemed excessive, she simply repeated the same explanation. Her next response was not only manipulative but seemed to be a veiled threat: if she removed the charge from the bill, the vet's medical notes for the blood pressure reading would be deleted. This felt mafioso-ish. It's highly unlikely that medical records are inextricably tied to billing, and even if they were, a workaround should exist. It was a clear attempt to force me to pay. At this point, I realized we weren't getting anywhere and said, "Don't worry, I'm going to pay it." Incredibly, she took this as an opportune time to re-explain her reasoning for a third time. I had to re-emphasize, "Leave it, I'm going to pay the bill." For a fourth time, she started her condescending explanation. I just looked at her until she finished, trying to make it clear I just wanted to pay and leave. She then went to the computer and mumbled about how waiving the fee might delete the records. I’d had enough and said: "Leave it. I was thinking of switching vets anyway and I want the new vet to have access to those records." She finally turned and left. There were so many failures here. I was charged for anesthesia and was never called for consent to do it. Instead of addressing that, management fixated on lecturing me. A good manager would have seen my 10-year history, apologized for the poor communication, and found a way to resolve the minor charge without threatening my pet’s medical records, especially with other clients piling up and watching. That was her chance to make a good impression on all the other clients, try to find a workaround (maybe just… print it off? Copy/paste it elsewhere in the records?) while realizing they’d already collected 10+ years of Wellness Plan premiums from me. But Trish’s ego couldn’t let it slide. And let’s be clear: if it weren’t an ego issue, she wouldn’t have explained the same thing four times, two of which came after I flat out said I’d just pay it. In summary: the vets themselves get 5 stars. I've always had excellent interactions with them and my cats get great care. The manager gets -3 stars, so we average to 1 star. Working so hard to lose loyal customers isn’t exactly what I’d call good business and management skills.

I love the way they make my dog relaxed when talking him away from me.
